I'd love to get dive certified though. That would be cool.

I think I'd go to the Keys for that though.

Well, I'm a world class snorkelers. Daughter dives.

Keys are "ok" but reefs are in sucky condition. Daughter got certified in Belize. I'd recommend Grand Cayman or Roatan, Honduras. Stay away from certification in Mexico.

So far, we know we’re going to California, the Philippines and Taiwan. May try to slip a Hawaii trip in there somewhere, but our summer is already pretty booked.

Where in Philippines?

My wife’s family and I run a nonprofit that does medical missions in the Philippines. We go every two years. This year we’ll be in Tacloban and then spend time in Boracay afterward. We also have a business in Quezon City, so we’ll spend a day or two there (or more likely Manila/Pasay) as well.

Boy, the new restrictions for Boracay sure look to put a damper on things.

Dont know how anyone gets around in Manila.

It's probably easier to get to than going out of the country. Northern keys are better for that than southern keys.

Just an FYI, keys and parts of Caribbean got hit this year with a seriously damaging reef fungus. Places still closed in parts of Mexico. Hit keys hard.

Catman, Roatan, Turks still good, just not Cozumel, etc.

They needed the restrictions. It was getting too polluted. It’s much nicer now. I agree about Manila. Traffic there is the worst I’ve ever seen. Some of the changes they’re making regarding tricycles and jeepneys will help some, but they just need much better infrastructure. I love how they always have four lanes of traffic in a marked two lane road. Traffic laws are merely suggestions there.

If you dive or snorkel, Dauin is really good. If you muck dive, Anilao outstanding. Cebu/Lapu Lapu is full of Asian tourists who are flat out scary.

Looks like Round 2 of vacation 2020 starting to form for October, 2020

Daughter and I were headed to Maldives, take a luxury liveaboard around the south atolls for diving and snorkeling. Then fly to Dubai for some diving/snorkeling in UAE and Oman. Plus do the tour Dubai thing since she's never been there.

Unfortunately, when the luxury yacht climbed to almost $1k a day each, we bailed.

Now heading to Egypt, do a Red Sea liveaboard for a week, hang around Sharm El Sheikh, then dive/snorkel the great Blue Hole in Abu Galum. Of course, stopping by pyramids, sphinx.

Wish we had time to swing over to Jordan. Some nice reefs there.

Well, looks like maybe a quick trip to England in June if prices are right (visit the lady friend's family Southeast of Birmingham). Also, a long weekend to Bath, NC in July. Wouldn't be a bad travel year...

I currently have nothing planned besides repeated work trips to Racine, WI.

Though if we get the global project signed there should be trips to Italy, Brazil and Australia.

Need to decide on family trips. It was supposed to be Hawaii during spring break, but the wife isn't excited about multiple 4+ hour flights.

Better get to work on that dive cert. Daughter just picked up 2 more certifications for side mount & dry suit and starting work on her rescue diver.

will have to find a time when we can take 2 weeks if we want to do that. So that rules out fall break unless my daughter misses some school before or after.
