he was in competition for the 4th spot which he had a very good shot at getting . its a shame because the coaches feel he has talent and for a 7th round pick he was worth the flier but he just cant seem to get a break injury wise

there is absolutely no reason not to put him on IR , you lose nothing

TC is for mistakes sportster , hopefully he works it out

I understand but more appropriately it is where you win and lose jobs. Hopkins has no competition. I see that as a mistake seeing as he had a bad year last year. Yes, I consider the 20 something place as a kicker bad. Not to mention he cost the team wins. Everyone is going to miss some but I would rather see him have competition. My guess is they wanted that spot for a non-kicker.

The other side of the coin is if you don't like a kicker by the end of camp you can replace him. If I remember correctly that is how Hopkins got here.
