Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that the Athletics have acquired left-hander Mike Minor from the Rangers.
Two players to be named later are headed back to the Rangers. Minor has struggled to the tune of a 5.60 ERA over seven starts this season, but he had a really good 2019 and the A's are in need of rotation depth. The southpaw is set to be a free agent following the 2020 season

Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun reports that the Blue Jays have acquired left-hander Robbie Ray from the Diamondbacks.
The report has been confirmed via multiple reporters at this point. This is purely a depth move for the Blue Jays, who have dealt with a number of injuries of late. Ray has a brutal 7.84 ERA over seven starts this season and it's hard to imagine things getting better in the AL East. The Diamondbacks weren't going to make him a qualifying offer following the season, so they just took what they could get.

What happened to him? He was a pretty damn good pitcher 2-3 years ago and he's only 28.

Athletics acquired LHP Mike Minor for two players to be named later and international slot compensation.
The two PTBNL will be Marcus Smith and Drew Harris, according to multiple outlets. The Rangers will also pay half of Minor's remaining salary, and get $133,000 in IFA money. The left-hander has struggled so far in 2020 with a 5.60 ERA, but did pitch well the previous season with a 3.59 mark over 2018 1/3 innings and 32 starts. He's a free agent at the end of the season, so Minor will be working to lead the Athletics deep into the postseason and also a quality contract starting in 2021.

Kevin Pillar has been traded to the Rockies for a player to be named later and international slot money, per MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.
Pillar has registered a respectable .274/.325/.470 batting line with four home runs and one stolen base through 30 games this season and also plays excellent defense in the outfield. The 31-year-old will be a nice piece for the Rockies as they try to claim a postseason spot down the stretch.
