Levy had no business even trying to play this year. Has it been revealed how he got injured? No chance anyone takes him in the offseason unless he works out for them (which I think is against the rules).

I read recently where he says he plans to return this year. I think Levy needs to learn how to relax.

As far as the injury, it's never been revealed far as I know. Those rumors make you wonder though.

The fact that it was soooooo hush hush makes me think the injury happened before the long term deal and Mayhew didn't do his due diligence. No proof, just a hunch. MM probably got desperate after Suh left and just tried to lock someone up long term to make himself look better to ownership.

Levy's agent played Mayhew like a fiddle. Just another reason to can his ass.

Lions placed WLB DeAndre Levy on injured reserve with a hip injury, ending his season.

Levy suffered a hip injury late in training camp and missed the first four weeks of the season. He lasted all of 17 snaps in Week 5 before shutting it down again. Levy will probably need another procedure. Luckily for him, he signed a five-year deal in early-August that contained $20 million guaranteed. Josh Bynes will continue to handle weak-side linebacker in Levy's absence.

Hips don't usually get better in guys who run and bang every play. Plus, he's older now. He'll be 29, coming off hip surgery. IMO he's probably done.

Levy hasn't practiced since the opener and was never expected to play. The Lions haven't given any details about Levy's injury, but we're listing him as year to year. Levy is a total bust.
