not sure how closely you guys watch the nab/d league/summer league, but ill go ahead and put in an obligatory *its only summer league* warning. probably north of 95% of guys that play in the summer league (that are underrated guys) don't ever play a minute in the NBA

Summer league is a joke when it comes to actually evaluating talent....only reason there is a summer league is to let the drafted guys play against slightly better competition while the veterans rest on vacation

Oh I know. But I'd much rather him play well in summer league than shitty.

I read yesterday that Petteway is the most likely of all the players on that Summer squad to be brought on.

haven't looked at their roster, but if its not guaranteed at all then he.ll be cut by the end of camp. NBA team can bring up to 20 guys to camp, can only have 15 players during the season, and can only have 13 of those 15 active until either after the trade deadline or start of the playoffs i can't remember which. So you see lots of those 2 years fully unguarenteed deals with camp bodies

either that or they are taking a huge flier on him, who knows maybe they like him enough to take a flier on him and get lucky and they end up with one steal of a contract

yeah I've seen that. Ive just seen so many players kill it in the summer league, then get cut by the end of camp. the rockets have a guy like that this year, alan williams...kilt it in summer league, probably playing in china next year according to his agent
