MSG network had a special the other night with their ranking of the top defensemen to play for the 3 teams in the metro area, here is their list;

10. Brian Rafalski NJD
9. Ken Morrow NYI
8. Brad Park NYR
7. Ron Greshner NYR
6. Ken Daneyko NJD
5. Harry Howell NYR
4. Scott Niedermeyer NJD
3. Brian Leetch NYR
2. Scott Stevens NJD
1. Dennis Potvin NYI

It was a fun, lots of great clips, even some from some "honorable mention" players like Bruce Driver that didnt make the top ten.

I said it on the Devils board, but Nieds was a far superior player to Leetch. MSG is owned by the Dolans so that would explain the bias, but come on. If you're starting a franchise and your choices were between Nieds and Leetch you would have to be completely out of your mind to choose Leetch.

Where's Wade Redden?

Potvin at #1. That had to piss some people off. Legit pick, but the Rangers and Devils will disagree.

I can't argue with that list. I just can't believe they rated Daneyko 6th. All 4 of the guys behind him on the list were better defenseman.

Ken Morrow 4 Stanley Cups & an Olympic Gold Medalist from 1980 & he's 9th? BLASPHEMY!!
