Honestly a huge week for San Diego State. I think if most of these teams would have stayed at 1/2 losses they wouldn't have had much of a case for a 1 seed. Now you have everyone in the Big East, B1G, and Pac 12 with at least 3 losses. Everyone in the SEC with at least 3 minus Auburn, but SDSU's resume was already comparable with them(if not better) before Auburn took a loss. Everyone in the ACC minus FSU and everyone in the Big 12 minus Baylor.
I think now, even a 1 loss SDSU can stay on the 1 line. As of right now, my 1 seeds would probably be Baylor, Gonzaga, SDSU and FSU. And who the hell would have thought that in mid January. Lol.
I was about to say the same thing. No way Gonzaga and SDSU would be able to stay on the top line in a different year with their resumes.
Duke may not lose many more games though. They only play one Top 25 team the rest of the year and its FSU at home. How nuts is that?

And things can change since it is just Mid-January. If you think the NCAA Tourney will be a crap shoot what about the ACC Tournament?
I think one of Duke, UL and FSU will win the ACC tournament. 4th on down it will be wide open though IMO. Getting the 1 seed will be huge given the difference in quality between the 3rd and 4th team in the conference. The 1 seed will have an easy easy path to the title game.
hopefully it's Duke or FSU
expansion schools don't deserve to win the ACCT when it's in GLORIOUS Greensboro
amen
note: I was born after FSU joined the ACC, so FSU is as original as it gets for me
You're speaking to someone who loved the ACC tournament prior to ND, Cuse, Pitt and UL joining. I was okay with BC because when they joined they were at peak BC. Miami has been meh but has had it's moments. I don't think it's a coincidence the last great ACC tournament was 2004 prior to expansion. Just a loaded field.
having more than ten teams in a conference doesn't work for college basketball. i understand expansion, but it's put a damper on the sport.
The 12 team setup wasn't horrible, but it isn't ideal either. 14/15 teams is a straight up mess.
and since you brought it up, BC firing Al Skinner might have been the most LOL worthy firing in recent college basketball (or football) history. BC may never recover.
I was always fine with a 12 team setup but that was mostly more for the conference tournaments than anything else. Getting two days of four games the first two days of the tournament was always awesome.
And yes it was. I don't think they've been to the tournament since he was fired. Honestly, have only come close a couple time IIRC.
