I dunno where you got this list from, but to not have Lance Briggs as one of the top 15 LB'ers is a fucking hilarious error.

Ancient history man.

He was leading the league in tackles and on pace for his best season before breaking his shoulder in week 7 and missing 8 straight games.

Ancient history my ass.

I hate to be persnickety, but no Patrick Willis in the top 5 ILBs?

Also, Ahmad Brooks is an OLB not an ILB. Maybe you meant to say Willis?

Willis is listed #2 in Middle LB behind Kuechly

Oops. Didn't see the two separate categories. Thanks.

Brooks is an OLB not an ILB though (he used to be a MLB in Cinci').

I understand last year was a bit of a down year for him, but I think I would still put Haloti Ngata in as one of the top 5 DTs in the league.

Although Tyrann Matthieu was a nice surprise, I'd probably put Bethea, Eric Reed or Harrison Smith over him.
That's just a spur of the moment attempt to argue with a really really good list.

troy polamalu made it because of his name (kind of like the pro bowl) because on the field he certainly hasn't been top 5 for a while.

Good list. I'm surprised to see Chancellor at #1, but when I really think about it, who is better? Dude is Sean Taylor reborn (yes I'm aware Chancellor was alive when Taylor was... just a figure of speech).

Really is amazing Seattle owns all 3 #1s in the secondary and I'd find it hard to argue against that. Seattle's defense really deserves to be in that discussion of top defenses all time.

70s Steelers/Curtain - Revolutionized the D-Line and front 4. Everyone started focusing on building it.
85 Bears - 46 defense. Says it all.
01 Ravens - Aggressive MLB and revolutionized the value of FS.
03 Bucs - The cover 2. Says it all.
13 Hawks - Legion of Boom.

All of those defenses (exception Hawks for now, not enough history) changed how teams draft and evaluate needs. I have to imagine teams will start drafting larger secondary players and focus on a HIGH aggression secondary unit.

Sean Lee is the best defender on a horrible defense, therefore he looks better than he is. Certainly above average, but definitely not tops in the league.
