Another guy I've always liked, not top 5, but John Leclair to me has always been one of the most underrated players of all time. That guy was an absolute stud, and I loved to hate that guy.

Lots of folks hated Gretz. It took a lot of years to shake the 'Whine Gretzky' name
I would assume a lot of folks disliked Mr Elbows as well in his prime, but by the time I started watching hockey he was a well respected elder statesman.
