I don't really have any for Army but I do have one that caused me to abandon the first college team I ever liked. The Houston Cougars.

In 1989, Houston beat SMU 95-21. It was SMU's first year back from the death penalty. They had no scholarship players. 17 of 22 starters were freshmen.

Houston led 59-14 at halftime and yet had four more passing touchdowns in the second half.

I had just completed a tour of duty in the Army a year earlier so switching teams was no big deal there. And it is certainly not like I bandwagon jumped to a front runner.

1. Losing to Georgia in the Cotton Bowl on a fumbled punt, then driving home listening to Miami upset Nebraska in Orange Bowl. Would have been National Champions if we'd had won that game

2. Kickoff returner getting absolutely KILLED by a Miami player on the opening kickoff of a Cotton Bowl. It just went downhill after that...

3. Getting rolled by UCLA 66-3 in Austin: Biggest play of the day was a long run by Hodges Mitchell, but was called back for holding...

4. One-knee'd Taysum Hill of BYU running all over the Horns defense, grinning from ear to ear, for 256 yards. Gave up 550 yards rushing.

5. RRSO blowout losses to OU.

Kinda hesitant to reveal this little tidbit but it's a fact so here goes: the RUF/NEK queen wasn't wearing any underwear and there was a photograph of her taken from a sideline photographer showing her after the accident happened. The photograph used to be around on a couple of password protected websites. The photograph was not photoshopped. I don't know how it got on the internet but there were a couple of lawsuits threatened over its being shown and the photograph is no longer available. Embarrassing as hell for her, ya think?

Auburn won their game and had to watch Miami jump us and win the NC. 83 is a great example of why we need a playoff because in the BCS era Texas and UN play and one of you wins.
