I might just move myself to another board. Flaming is killing this board for me. I can't post in a thread without him interjecting his opinion where it's not welcome. And his opinion really has nothing too it outside of just being there to argue and really having nothing back it up.

Gotta call you out on this one. When you post something...you are welcoming anyone and everyone to respond. If you don't want to see his response...ignore him, I believe there is a feature for that.

You can't post something on here and then dictate who can and can't respond. Sorry. This doesn't work that way my man.

In any case, I would suggest just ignoring him one way or another. Like I tell my kids...they will keep doing what they are doing until you stop responding. Then they'll get board and find something else to do.

He does it in a passive-aggressive manner where he doesn't attack you, but instead makes snide comments, deliberately ambiguous so he can deny that he started anything. But, as the man said, this is a public message board, where anybody can disagree with anything. There's no rule that you have to respond to anything he says, or anybody else for that matter. I'm not going to ban Rey for being a dick. I'm not going to ban Kramer for being an asshole. I'm not going to ban Crash for being a homer. Rey CAN have a good debate. If you let somebody drive you from the board, that's just silly. There is an ignore feature, which Dan (I think) used. Use it.

How do you figure? Who has won the AFC North for the past many seasons. The team with the great D and the great running game. That is a fact. And that board has many more legit posters than you. Actual analysts and columnists.

Even if you do believe this, I'm not holding a gun to anyone's head forcing them to attack me. Walk away. Or better yet, put your bias aside, use your head, and make a good argument. It's almost never black and white, yet people don't care to do any of the above. They'll just continue to rehash the same tired argument that has been shown to have major flaws. It's frustrating. I've had plenty of good debates with cincyfan, reglidan on the other board, and even 1 with crash on this board. You just have to be willing to put in the effort.

You don't HAVE to have a great defense and solid running game to win this division. Problem is, no team has tried any other approach. You're telling me a team like the Saints, Packers, Patriots, etc would not win this division because they're great passing teams and not so much running and defending (Packers this season) teams?

Furthermore, you don't have to have a great defense or solid running game to beat the foes we've played to this point. Seattle, Denver, Cleveland, etc can all be beaten without such.

Further-further more, it is well known that the best way to attack Pittsburgh's defense is with a short, accurate pass game. Not with running. Same goes for Baltimore.

It's a tired cliche and fits well within that thread. Any columnist/analyst that uses that cares little about actually "analyzing" but rather giving the reader what they want to read.

As far as talking heads in general go, while they may have better knowledge of the intricacies of the game, of the intricacies of a specific defense or offense, but they do not have more knowledge of the Bengals that most even on this board do. Why? Because they don't watch as many games as we do, they don't pay attention to as much detail (how can they pay attention to the details of all 32 teams), and they don't have the time to dig through stats and support (or evidence) what they see on the field. So forgive me if I don't value their opinions as much as you seem to do. Maybe that is where you belong.

I debated them. Every year either the Steelers or the Ravens seem to win the division with what? Running and defense. Pitt has tried being a pass first team and it just never worked for them. They keep reverting to a running team for a reason. There are no QB's in this division that are Brady or Manning so therefore you have to run and play great D to win this division. Even then Pitt has more titles than INDY or NO do this past decade. Yes NE has more but Brady is the best in the business over that time. Those are the facts, you can't use well no one has tried it as an argument as to why it would work. That isn't an argument, that is trying to predict the future. Also I'm pretty sure the guys over there keep up with the Bengals pretty well.

You and I already posted at lot in another thread on how NFL Defenses should be ranked, and I agreed with a lot of what you said. Yards alone is a terrible way to rank a defense, and I agree with that.

However, that is how the NFL ranks them, and as of right now, the NFL, NOT ME, ranks these 4 teams at the top of the defensive scale.

Have they faced weaker offensive opponents? Yes.

Is there a better way to rank defensive positioning? Yes.

Does any of our "opinion" change the fact that the NFL RANKS THESE FOUR TEAMS 1, 2, 3, 4!!! NOOOO.

It was a simple post, one not to ellicite much of a response other than "that is cool", or in your case maybe "well that is all grand and dandy if I agreed with the way they rank defenses, but neat I guess *shrug*".

BUT NOOOO..can't do that. You have to start a shit storm with everyone.

I am not about banning anyone, but your comments are designed to create controversy and make people aregue just to make them argue.
