This is closer than first appears, Stargell had more power(HRs,ISO,XBH) and was significantly better in the playoffs. But Musial only played 23 post season games vs Stargell's 36 so sample is too small on both players to make it THE deciding factor...

Musial wins, because his longevity and BA was just way too much of an advantage...

Stargell played considerable time at 1B. The Man played some 1B as well (one of his MVPs was as a 1B), but he was still primarily an OFer.

Stargell would have to be CONSIDERABLY better to overcome that deficit, and the fact is, Musial was still better.
