While I will probably vote against Bonds in the final it amazes me how much better he was than someone like Henderson. Say what you want bad about Bonds, he still was arguably one of the best if not the best in my lifetime. If you look at the other players that were putting up the HR numbers to compare with Bonds in the last twenty years none of them had the BA he had, or the OBP. While players that did have the BA or OBP to compare with Bonds did not have the power he had.

And that is not even mentioning the fact that he stole over 500 bases in his career.

Rickey Henderson is probably the best lead off hitter of all time... BUT bonds might be the best middle of the lineup hitter of all time... Elite vs elite, always take the middle of the lineup guy...

an analysis is not even needed here.. we know everything already...

Forget about the HRs for a second...

Bonds owns the 2 best OBP seasons of all time and one was over .600, and he has a career .444 OBP...

I am a HUGE Ricky fan. I am one who believes that he is actually VERY under-rated, even though he is generally considered one of the elite of the elite.

That said, this is not close.

In 22 seasons, Bonds had 20 seasons of 120+ OPS+. He had a CAREER 182! He was once intentionally walked WITH THE BASES LOADED.

Bonds was the GOAT. End of story.
