Top 3 Cy Young Canidates this year as of now

For the NL, I'm looking at Kershaw for now, but if he catches any slump then it's equally liable to be Wainwright or Harvey imo.

Wins aren't everything. You have to look at the things you can control

Hernandez right now personally

Same ERA+ as Darvish, and I know Darvish has been insane with the Ks. But Hernandez has 22 More innings on him. Fair or not.

Scherzer is 3rd...but in the eye of the Voters, he's probably first because of that w/l record

Good argument. Although it makes Darvish Ks that much more impressive throwing 1-2 starts less than the other Cy young contenders yet still leads in strikeouts by a decent margin

NL: Kershaw has a 1.87 ERA, 0.86 WHIP. Harvey and Wainwright are second and third.
AL: There's quite a few in the mix. Scherzer, Felix, Sale, Darvish. I'm not picking a favorite yet.

I agree with that. I keep waiting for him to destruct, but it ain't happenin' yet. Just keep those damn walks under control...

They're down...at least from his career average, hahah. I've just grown to accept that will be his "thing". He works out of it though...amazingly. This has been a career year for him in many stats so far. His BB/9 was over 5 for the last four seasons, and he has it at 3.7 thus far in 2013. Opponent BA is .205, OBP .285, OPS .557. But man, if those walks were around league average...his stats would be incredible.

Look at Chris Tillman who is 14-3 with a 3.89 era

Felix is the front runner for the Cy Young in my opinion...11-4 with a 2.30 era and the most quality starts of any pitcher in mlb this year

You know why wins and losses are so overrated...Felix has had 6 starts going 7 innings or more and giving up 2 runs or less this year without getting a W

Won't have to convince me of that one. I watch AJ Burnett pitch...guy gets no run support. It's astounding.

For me I would go Felix > Darvish > Scherzer. To be honest Scherzer is a bit overrated and his only other impressive stat (comparatively) is his WHIP. But knowing how much the voters love w/l, his chances are definitely higher than Darvish and possibly King Felix as well.

Scherzer doesn't have the potential of those 2 either

As of now Felix/darvish/scherzer but anything can change
