Top 12 plays of the 2013-2014 Superbowl Champion Seahawks

12) Earl Thomas’s goal line interception vs San Fran week 2
- Game was tied and San Fran was looking to take momentum with an early score, but Walter Thurmond tips it and Earl finishes it off with the interception. Despite the 29-3 score, the first half was very close and could have easily gone either way. The Earl interception probably saved it from going the other way.

11) Marshawn stiff arm
- Beast Mode’s stiff arm in the Atlanta game personifies the way this team plays.

10) Kearse’s GW td catch vs Carolian week 1
- It may not have seen significant at the time, but if Kearse doesn’t catch this and score, we don’t have home field advantage. And without the 12th man, we might not have won the Superbowl.

9) Marshawn’s 31 yd td run vs the Saints in the divisional playoff round
- Beast mode does it again to score and seal a win over the New Orleans Saints in the playoffs

8) Michael Bennett’s fumble return for the td
- This set the tone for the entire game as Drew Brees faced the wrath of LOB

7) Marshawn’s 41 yd td run vs San Fran in the NFC Championship
- Seattle was down and the offense had no life. This run brought the crowd back into it and gave the Seahawks some offensive rhythm.

6) Percy Harvin’s kickoff return td in the Superbowl
- Even being up 22-0 as a Seahawk fan you just felt like anything can still happen with our luck and the potency of the Denver offense. Then when Percy took it back on the opening 2nd half kickoff…all the 12s worldwide breathed a sigh of relief

5) Malcolm Smith interception for a td in the Superbowl
- The Seahawks defense was dominating but were only up 15-0 with Peyton driving to cut that lead in half. It starts with the pressure Avril was giving Peyton Manning to force the floating duck interception returned for a td.

4) Golden Tate’s one handed td vs Atanta
- From a sheer level of difficulty and amazingness this ranks as one of the best. But since the game was against Atlanta and the play at the end of the day was not pivotal towards winning the game, backs this one back to 6

3) Jermaine Kearse 35 yd td against the 49ers in the NFC Championship
- On 4th down facing a 13-17 deficit, if Russell and Kearse doesn’t connect on this Seahawks may not win. Also a great throw and an even better catch by Kearse fighting for the ball in traffic and landing down with it secured.

2) Richard Sherman’s game tying interception vs Houston
- This was the play that completely changed Houston’s season. They went from possibly going 3-0 to 2-1 and ultimately 2-14. Seattle seemed defeated and destined to another road loss until they mustered a furious comeback capped off by this interception.

1) The Tip
- Game on the line and a Superbowl appearance on the line…Richard Sherman makes a career defining play tipping Colin Kaepernick’s daring pass for the game saving and game winning interception

When I look at "the Tip" by Sherman it makes me appreciate how important it was for us to rid ourselves of our smurf cornerbacks from a few years ago. Can you imagine if that was Kelly Jennings or Josh Wilson defending that pass? The ball would have went over their fingertips by about 3 inches and right into Crabtree's hands.

3 inches? Try damn near a foot... 5-6 inches taller, much longer arms, much better leaping ability. Beyond all of that, Crabtree's pushoff would have put either of them on the ground.

After I read the above snippet by Sports Science about in ESPN the magazine a few weeks ago, I couldn't believe he wasn't a top 10 pick (if his performance wasn't enough to lead to that disbelief)... dude is one of the absolute best athletes in the NFL.

I was being generous, and you're right it would probably be closer to foot. I'm just glad we've got this tall, lanky, extremely skilled secondary instead of those little short guys.

Those smurfs CBs were just embarassing. Watching them try to cover big receivers like Larry Fitzgerald made want to turn the TV off.

Great work Logicallylethal.

Sherman's pick 6 against the Texans is one I will always remember. It allowed me to believe we were never out of any game. Not mention it broke the Texans because they never won another game after that.

Also is it just me or did every Kearse touchdown catch come at a crucial time. Really impressed with the way Kearse developed this year into a quality receiver.

You could also add a few clutch Doug Baldwin sideline catches to this list. Its tough to choose only 12 though!!

Yeah it was so tough to choose just 12. I thought about doing a top 15 or 20 but 12 just has a good ring to it.

People can hate on our wrs all they want. Call them pedestrian or average, but our guys make plays. They may be short but they play like they're 6'4 or 6'5.

In honor of Mr. Dougie Fresh here are some great catches by him both from this year and last year
