I'm around that height and I don't weigh that much despite being pretty fat. That guy is either in nothing like game shape, or he's a bodybuilder-turned RB.

he's built like a fire hydrant, no doubt.

lol - You must remember GunsnBeer from the swamp - Every other post was Jacobs and only caring about beer and pretzels.

I liked the one time he threw in "foam bear claws" too.

I think GunsAndBeer was also the guy who would constantly use the phrase 'Nintendo franchises' for teams that weren't part of the original six.

Yes, you are correct Slim - I think San Jose had a special place in his heart.

/Maybe he hated the Joe Thornton trade :noidea:

He was probably even more pissed about the Jim Thornton trade.

/I have no idea who it was that started the Jumbo Jim thing.

Yeah, I can't remember either (it might have been a disgruntled Sharks fan, but it dates back a few years.

/It was a Hawks fan who started calling Burrows 'Bellows' and I use both depending on my mood (lol)

The family of Boston Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs also has said he would work to keep the Bills in Buffalo without saying whether he would bid for the team.

He must have the concessions contract.

JJ is from Buffalo, so there's that at least.

This post may get a bit long, so anyone with ADD may want to turn away now.

As you can imagine, I've been paying a bit of attention to this situation. Regarding JJ potentially owning, he wouldn't be able to currently under NFL rules. JJ would have to do some off-loading of some business interests and would also have to transfer ownership of the Bruins to one of his kids. There's two NFL ownership by-laws (at least) that he runs afowl of currently:

1) Can't be an NFL owner and have interests in any type of gambling establishment. Delaware North currently operates somewhere in the range of 10K automated gaming machines (think video slots, video poker, etc.) and owns or has an ownership stake in several casinos. Not a huge hurdle to off-load those if they were serious. However, there's stil...
2) Can't be an NFL owner and own a team in a different sport in a competing market. Specifically, because Boston is considered a competing NFL market to the Bills (even though those evil bastards play in Foxborough). Which means he couldn't own the Bruins while owning the Bills. There's a precedent (St. Louis Rams) for a short grace period wherein JJ would have to transfer control of the Bruins within say 1 year and then might have 3-5 years to sell (or "sell") his financial stake in the team.

On the plus side still, the Bills currently have a lease that has been described as "bulletproof" by some legal analysts:
- If a new owner tries to move the team before 2020, not only do they have to put up the ~$1B to buy the team, but then they also have to pay the league's demanded relocation fee which is not defined, but is speculated that it could be $300M+, but then they'd also have to pay a $400M penalty to NY and Erie County (which owns the stadium)
- And that all assumes they could even get approval from the other owners. Apparently 9 current owners or team presidents (the Packers) would be enough to veto a move of the team. There have already been public statements from several of the most influential owners/presidents in the league that they'd veto it, including John Mara (half owner and CEO of NYG), Woody Johnson (owner of NYJ), and Mark Murphy (Packers).
- And even if they could get past all of that, the lease with the team has a legal clause that would allow Erie County to sue the new owner of the team with an agreement that the decision of a local judge (who of course would be most likely to vote against a move) would have final authority on the case (i.e., the lease contains a clause agreeing to no appeal to a state and/or federal court) with a new owner potentially facing criminal charges if they tried to pull a Baltimore Colts nighttime getaway.

TL;DR version: it's going to be an interesting couple of years

On another note, shouldn't US senators be focusing on other issues besides the names of NFL teams?

No, keeps them occupied so they can't do any real harm.

I think the name should be changed as well, but then again, I'm not a Redskins fan so it doesn't impact me as much as others.

Senators tell Goodell that Redskins' name should be changed

Great. My crazy brother in law (the one who said if the Redskins have to change their name, the Brewers should have to as well) is on his way to my house RIGHT NOW. I will be hearing this conspiracy bullshit all fucking weekend.

At least I can count on him to eat the brownies.
