Carter is a phukking monster… I’d be thrilled if Seattle landed him, just from a massive need standpoint…
Off the top of my head I can't think of a defensive tackle prospect I was higher on. Maybe Ndamukong Suh, but that was over a decade ago.

I think Carter has the talent and ability that he could be an All-Pro player his rookie year even. I can't think of any notable flaws to his game other than sometimes after he sheds a block he gets a little bit eager and loses fundamentals and that he plays a bit upright, but that doesn't seem to be an issue.

The only concern is the character/legal issue, but that hasn't really seemed to be a problem for our front office. If he's on the board when the Seahawks select, I'd expect him to be the selection unless we trade down, or if we've fallen in love with some QB prospect available.

If Anthony Richardson is available when we select, I could see the Seahawks selecting him. Most of the videos of Richardson are highlights, but I've focused on his game film where he has made bad throws and think it could be a fixable issue. The arm talent is certainly there, and a lot of his overthrows/off target passes look to me to be the product of bad footwork. The biggest concern with selecting him at 5 is you're essentially buying a lotto ticket instead of possibly landing Jalen Carter or Will Anderson Jr. who I believe are both sure things.

That Anthony Richardson visit is concerning.
I've changed my tune on Richardson a bit, and it's not because of the combine performance because it didn't surprise me.

This is a really great breakdown. Richardson can either be coached up to be a generational talent, or he'll essentially become a Taysom Hill. Essentially a lottery ticket. I wouldn't be surprised if he's available when we select as he's definitely not ready to start his first year.

Seems like Carter would be the biggest bang for buck at 1.5. He's the consensus #1 player at his position, would likely start week 1, and addresses probably the most glaring weakness on the roster. I don't think you can say that about any other player that would be taken at that spot.
I think that irrespective of position value, Jalen Carter is the best player in this draft. As I said in a previous post, any flaws you find in his game would be borderline nit-picking. Second best I'd say is Will Anderson Jr., who like Carter doesn't have really any noticeable flaws to his game other than the fact that he isn't someone you can slide inside to rush the passer due to his size. If we landed either of them, I'd be ecstatic as I believe both will be impact players right away.

If he's available it would make the #5 pick enticing for a team like the Raiders to trade up for. If Al Davis was alive he would be the type Al loved.
trading down to 7 would still net us one of anderson, carter, or tyree wilson. doubtful they would give up a future first though, unless they desperately love whichever QB is still there.

theres always the possibility they trade up to 3. would probably be the first time ever QB has gone 1-4, that would be wild.

I’m all for taking a QB, but not with our number 5, we need to bolster our run D like a mouse needs cheese, if we have to sit through another season getting utterly bulldozed over vs the run it’s gonna suck… if they took a QB at 5 it better be somebody they LOVE I mean LOOOOOVE because he most likely will have no impact for a long time and usually when you’re selecting a top pick you want that guy out there making a difference …

carter at 5, smith at 20 would be a nasty combo

Yeah I would be perfectly fine with that. Sign someone like Rankins or Ioannidis and our DL could be a strength rather than a weakness next year.

I agree. The defensive talent that'll likely be available at 5 is too good to pass up on unless we trade down, which I wouldn't be opposed to after seeing the absolute haul the Bears received from the Panthers.

Forgive me if this has been posted already but it was a pretty good listen.

That is pretty good. I'm starting to think that if we don't go with Carter, Wilson is the better choice for us.

I'm not as knowledgeable about some of these players as a lot of y'all but based on what I've read I'd agree with this.

Go Carter if he's there and Wilson if he's not.

Take a developmental QB in those mid rounds if you can.

I'm not super knowledgeable about these kids either but I do know that Wilson is a big guy whereas Anderson is a speed guy much more along the lines of Taylor and Nwosu.

While we do need help at the pass rush(who doesn't) we REALLY need to shore up our run D. I think Wilson is probably a better fit in that regard.

The other picks he made in that video were pretty interesting.

Not sure about Zay Flowers at 20. A 3rd receiver option seems like a luxury. Keanu Benton seems like a great option for NT. Thompson-Robinson seems like a solid pick at that spot. Cody Mauch makes a lot of sense. A versatile road grader is the kind of guy we could use. Abanikanda also makes sense as we are likely to draft a RB somewhere. Stromberg seems a little excessive. Mapu seems like an interesting choice. Enechukwu would be awesome as a late round pick.

I think the hiring of pass rush specialist Brandon Jordan to the staff will take our pass rush up a notch from last season I really do. I don't really have a problem with our edge rushers as long as they continue improving and with Brandon Jordan I think they will so I want some bigger stronger middle DT's and Some true 3-4 Linebackers that FIT the 3-4 line-up.

If we are going to run a 3-4 you really need a couple of land masses that can play NT. They don't need to get sacks, per se, but they need to clog lanes and get some push to force the QB either to their back foot or off their spot. If you can get that, then your edge rushers have a much easier job.

Well with the Bears trading out of the top spot you know the Panthers are going QB with that pick. So Panthers, Texans and Colts we believe are going QB so I pretty much believe the Seahawks are going DL. It was smart of them to lock in Geno before he left in FA.

Yeah Flowers I thought was an odd pick there. I don't see that one happening.
