I think this is what I was thinking of (i was off)
Riley Washington, a junior wingback, continues to practice with the Cornhuskers despite having been charged with attempted second-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony in connection with the Aug. 2 shooting of 22-year-old Jermaine Cole at a Lincoln convenience store. Cole told Lincoln police that he and Nebraska undergraduate assistant football coach Abdul Muhammad were fighting when Washington pulled his gun and fired, saying, "Your life is gone." On Sept. 11, two days before Washington pleaded not guilty to both counts, Osborne said, "I think there is a very, very good chance that Riley didn't do what he's accused of. I've talked to a lot of people.... I feel pretty comfortable about Riley's case."
I guess my question then is why does he still live in North Omaha..........I seriously duck down in my car just driving through that neighborhood so I don't get hit by any stray bullets
lol.......North Omaha has been labeled as one of the most violent parts of any cities in the Midwest actually........it has gotten drastically worse over the past decade.
I've been to the ghetto in Chicago, NYC, and D.C., and I don't see much of a difference with the exception of them being bigger.
He was apparently shot on 52nd and NW Radial. That's about 2 blocks from where one of my sisters lives and across the street from where my niece (other sister's) just graduated from high school. It's not great in that area but certainly not the worse in town. You gotta go a mile or so east and north of there for the bad stuff.
Ive lived in some big cities out west but the poverty stricken ghettos in the midwest are much worse. Omaha is pretty bad in comparison, Little Rock and Memphis are terrible. They're all ranked up there for violent crime nationwide.
