Canopies? Do you live in a foreign land? WTF is canopies?

Canopy is another name for a parachute.

This is a good picture of a classic 9-cell ram air canopy.

Uh, I get up on my rear tires all the time to deal with the stuff I load on my trac racs and I'm about as far from an acrobat at this point of my life as it gets. I also have a real truck :thumb:
I ain't climbing on the rear tire of my 2500hd. I own these new inventions called ladders.

A canopy is what goes on the bed of your truck....I have no clue why you guys are talking about a "cap" on a truck....Is that like a fucking baseball hat?

Actually, some of them are just about like that - a ball cap for your truck bed.

I own a 2015 Tacoma and I use mine as a daily driver. I bought a large weatherproof bag to placein the bed if I am using it for items I want to putin the bed and keep dry. I have hauled everything from luggage, groceries, Christmas shopping items, to plants that I wanted to protect from the wind. I found this the best option for me, but I see lots of caps and tonneau covers as well. To each his own, but finctionality is the key. Mine works perfect because I can fold it and place it behind the seat and it goes everywhere I go.

So screw everybody

My 2013 F150 cover was a roll away cover that was easy.

Now I have a flip cover on my 2016 thats nice but when you need to use the entire bed it's a pain.

I have a hard tonneau tilt - had it for 10 years now. Love it.

When I need to haul something "taller", I just strap it down. "Longer" - it helps provide an anchor point. When the wife and I need to take a trip, everything gets tossed in the back and locked with no worries.

I have 4', 6', 10' step ladders as well as a few step stools, but for a quick tie down at the lumberyard I'll climb up on a rear tire of my Ram 2500 and handle it quickly.

Camper for me as well, lots of extra uses other than a dry spot to sleep in a pinch though the trifold covers ain't bad either. I don't care for the others mentioned.

Wow, talk about convenience! Just lock her up in the bed cover, and away you go. How does she signal you when she needs to use the bathroom? Because i KNOW you aren't letting her whizz in the bed...

It's called a bed cap.

i have always called them a camper shell, a bed cap makes sense though.

Any how you have to figure out what works best for you, the tonneau cover works best for me, but I haul a lot of large stuff like RZR, 4 wheelers.

I have a hard "cover" for the bed of my F150. It's a "Snugtop" cover . It makes the bed water tight as the cover fits over the bed completely and has weather stripping to seal it. You can lock it also. I relocated the tailgate handle to the inside of bed and shaved the tailgate. I pretty much made it a big trunk....LOL.

The drawback is you need two people at the very least to remove it.

Edit: That cover is 12 years old ! So is the truck. Bought both in 2005...truck is a 2006.

I had everything repainted Crystal Black Pearl. Which is a much darker black.
