So they need to get rid of divisions. Keep conferences, no divisions. Makes perfect sense but I dont think they will do that for awhile if they do

I think it makes more sense to do that. what I've been concerned with is one division having 3 or more great teams and the other division sucking...... not good.

No, if you win, you're in. No way you move from 4 to 5 after beating Colorado.
I agree. I wasn't saying that we would.

I agree for the most part, but who's the best two teams in that conference? They just played... it's kind of a fucked situation when a team that might win the conference will probably be left out if they do for a team they beat straight up.

I'm not saying OSU probably isn't the better team, or that they don't deserve to go, and the answer sure as hell isn't to leave Washington put should they win Friday (duh). Just an observation. Can we really say every game is relevant with a smaller playoff which this kind of situation?

It's the end of the season, so they should just take the 2 highest ranked teams for the most part and have them play each other for the championship.

Games will matter even less with a larger playoff. Auburn game for Alabama was meaningless this year because of the playoffs, but would have still had meaning in the BCS era. More spots just makes it easier for teams to get in.

yep. agree. bcs wasn't so bad. what is so different?? you take care of business and win, you go to the show, but you have to schedule good teams....

playoffs benefit lower teams to have an extra chance to knock off the strong teams......

They may sit back and see how it comes out with the Big 12. Even though they only have 10 teams and play a complete round robin (which can't happen in the larger conferences) it might give them some things to consider as it unfolds.

Yeah, I agree. I'm not saying a larger playoff is necessarily the answer.

Maybe the answer is doing away with this "we want to put the best 4 teams in" approach and go with a "we want the 4 most deserving teams" focus.

Well, even ESPN's been saying Washington better be careful and win big or they might get left out... which is BS.
Yeah, if that's the case I give up. How can you justify dropping a team you said is #4 last week after they beat #8 (in any fashion)? You'd never guess some of those guys are "experts."

Good point. When Michigan scheduled Colorado they were the pits. They had no idea they would be good this year. Because Colorado improved, Michigan is getting a bump in their SOS with the win. Had Colorado stayed shitty, it would have been a negative.

I will say this, Washington has a tough game, this is THE one I want to watch this weekend. unfortunately for the buffs, if they win, I don't think they'll get in.

Some of those guys just like to talk shit and they're pushing the 'what if the BIG gets 3 teams in'.

have to mention again, because it just makes me smile.

while all your teams will be busting their ass this week and playing tough games, Urban Meyer will be dissecting and studying game film for Clemson, the team will be resting and watching football with popcorn......
