49ers can get Hankins in round 2. I either want a trade to next years draft to a sucky team. Or to move up any get Star and have our Ngata

I like the RB from UNC Bernard, good hands and can get in the endzone. In the 2nd or 3rd round. Go 49ers!!

That's about it for who I hope we draft. If those guys are not their I hope we trade down. It should be easy to trade out of the pick to someone wanting to jump up and grab Barkley, Manuel, or Nassib. Heck maybe we can trade both our 1st and the Chiefs 2nd to teams looking for a QB at that point. I would be ok with that. Honestly the only position a rookie has a shot at starting is either safety position and maybe Center. I'm ok with Ertz with our 2nd round pick just because we need to replace Walker and a 2nd TE would used heavily on our offense even if they are not a starter.

31 - Datone Jones
34 - Cyprien
61 - Trade up to mid-2nd (give up 4th and 6th) - Ertz
74 - Amerson
93 - trade for 2014 2nd
131 - Lattimore
157 - Chase Thomas
173 - Matt Scott
7th round- Trade the pick that you can and then draft OL and DL backup prospects with the others.

Jones provides that key backup on the DL to groom.
Cyprien offers versatility and toughness at the S position.
Ertz can actually be an upgrade - has much better hands than Walker and runs crisp routes that make up for his lack of elite speed - moves like Tony Gonzales.
Amerson can be developed into a safety...ala Goldson
Lattimore should only go to a stacked team that can stash him for 2014. 49ers are a perfect fit.
Thomas has more potential than he's being given credit for. Has an array of moves and nonstop motor. Would be great on ST.
Although it's possible, Scott probably won't fall this far but he could be great in our system

These days I'm not near as excited as I used to be for the draft. Even up to a few years back I used to not be able to sleep the night before, now it is kind of blah. I think it is because Goodell and ESPN has turned it into this (commercial/mainstream) thing that it is now and it seems to have taken some of the luster away for me. I don't like the new format.

What do you mean by the new format? The coverage of the draft? The team that covers it? No cameras in the green room / war room? No leaking picks to the media? That kind of stuff?

Can't wait. I just watched the ESPN 30 for 30 "Elway to Marino," and it felt apropos to how important smart draft selections are for the renewed, or continued success of a team.

Even though I am quite ignorant in regard to the draft, I am awaiting it with bated breath.

I think a lot of it has to do with us not drafting in the top 15 anymore, and the fact that no matter who we draft we may or may not even see them play that much next year. The draft is still huge for out long term success, but it matters very little to our upcoming season. That's a big difference over what we endured for 7-8 years.
