In the last three games, 1 win, 2 losses. OK, not stellar, but was it his fault? I don't think so. I think a lot of the fault was with the defense. If you throw in the Wisconsin game, Nebraska was 1-3 the last four games with an average of 41.5 points scored on them.

OK, TA was lucky in the USC game where he had three or four passes that were not intercepted because #24 can't catch for USC.

All that aside, in the last three games;

He was 56 for 97 for a 57.7% completion rate.
7 TDs
3 INTs
35 rushes for 117 yards for a 3.34 yard per carry.

To me, it looked like it started to click with him at the end of the season. He never gave up, the bad throws did not affect him. He came right out and kept playing and won the Iowa game and sort of kept Nebraska in the USC game.

Yes, I want him to fix those throws that are going who knows where.

Yes, I want to see Mr. John Stanton IV given a good shot at the QB job, but I think that TA had a very good audition.

He failed the eye test miserably for me in the bowl game.

This. It's tough to say "other than the times he threw it directly to the other team and they dropped it" he looked good. If he is able to figure out what is causing those problems and correct it, I'm all for him starting. It remains to be seen if he can do that though.

Stanton was recruited by MR.....

If we run anything close to pro style TA might be in trouble

I used to play Halo 3 for 15 hours a day. That was as geeky as I ever got.

I'll always be a computer geek though.

Have to disagree with you HiB10.

57.7% would put TA 70th overall in FBS. If that's hard to beat out then Riley needs to start looking JUCO. I saw very little if any mental growth in TA last season. I don't doubt TA's heart and desire to win, but who doesn't have that?

However, there are other factors to consider. The coaching staff sucked ballz. Sometimes the team surrounding the QB actually make the QB. The O-line and RB need to pass protect. The receivers need to run proper routes. The OC needs to call proper plays. Strength and Conditioning.

I really don't know what to expect down there.

TA only has game experience over everybody else.

I hope and think Riley has no starters right now and is looking at game film. but wont even contemplate a depth chart until halfway through spring

I am still of the belief that most of TA's problems were system based. Many say the "he only looks at one receiver." well, according to a report I read last month 90% of all college qb's are the same way, including the last three heisman trophy winners. Once I figure out where I saw that I'll post it.

TA has good arm strength and can make things happen with his feet. Some proper coaching and a decent offense could make him look like an All-American.

There are things mechanically that can and will be fixed for Tommy now that we actually have a real QB coach. His footwork was Tito-esque at times for one.

There are some things that certain individuals have over others naturally that cannot be taught.

I kind of hope that is how Riley is approaching this. Every position should be up for grabs and best man wins. I can not think of one player that should be considered a sure starter for next year.

I'm in the group that believes it is system/coaching problems. Also, I'd put most of our end of year offensive problems on the o-line. if they open holes against MSU/Wiscy/Minn like they did against Miami, we would have been in those games or even won.

We have a real QB coach now. I'm sure every QB will start with a clean slate and the guy that knows how to read through progressions will win the job. TA often times stared down 1 receiver, but without being in practice, I don't know if that was him or the system. I often blamed the system just because of what I had heard about it being a lot of read and react from the WRs and so TA never knew where they would be.

After the Wisconsin loss Tomhusker was on here telling us it was completely a players problem.

Yup. I believe I said hat the players quit on the coaching staff, or something along those lines. What does that have to do with this?
