Playing musical chairs with the OL doesn't sit well at all with me, reminds me of a situation at DB and LB (outside of the obvious) last year and something about it not working out very well. It's as if we've not realized we had seniors graduating and now have zero players to step into 1st string, normally those players would come right from 2nd string.
A few of those seniors were even JUCO's, so that's 2 years of not finding a suitable replacement at those spots.

my biggest issue with it is that i see it as a severe interference with player development. like oh, play tackle for half of spring ball, but then switch to guard....well how the fuck is a kid supposed to be good at either if he doesn't get enough time to practice it.

Other players and coaches have made positive comments about The Rod getting after the weight pile and the off season training, that's great and all but switching to OT is a helluva change from playing inside all this time. Chuck stated the troof as well about a guy not ever getting real good at any certain position. We'll revisit this matter late in the season and see where our thoughts were at. I'm certainly no coach with all this brilliant inside info to go on, but it sure doesn't sound like any move a team on the come up would be needing to make.

If Barney can't produce this year it'll be "Oh but we have all this young talent, just wait till next year, or the year after that". Fuuuuuuuuuuck THAT. There is no reason why we can't field a SOLID O-Line this season outside of a rash of injuries.. which... somehow happens way more than I have ever seen lately.

Which brings me to my next concern.. Whatever Cottons doing, it's not conducive to keeping the line healthy. Something to do with how they practice, or maybe even the way Dobson has them conditioned... They need to stay healthy this year if we want a chance.

I don't want to hear at the end of the year about how every guy was playing with a torn this or a strained that.

Mike'l thinks A Rods not athletic enough to play Tackle. Saying spring is a time to give everyone looks at diff pos so that they know which guys can slide over and provide help in a pinch.. They're saying the exact same things we're saying.

Really wish they would have left Bronson Marsh at DB. Eric Martin at LB. We are thin at LB and with fish and compton being hurt last season we really could have used Martin back there.

I may be overreacting over the AR deal, I'm sure we really do have a Tackle lined up to play on the right side, Moore is our top tackle to take over the all important blind side, being only a sophomore with very little experience. Shirley the depth at OT is not that bad, right?
