I mean we can still win the big ten turny right? slim chance. Ok say we do win the big10 does that mean we are the number one team in the big ten or does it go by over all record.

The Big 10 Tournament champion gets an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

Not impossible for a mid range team to win a conference tournament.

Nebraska fits the perfect mold of a team that could storm into that Tournament and mess everything up.

It's a team that's picking up steam, growing confidence, and not everyone takes completely serious yet.

Put them on a neutral court and anything could happen.

If this team was Sophomores and Juniors as opposed to Freshmen and Sophomores, it would be a different story.

Basically what I'm saying is, if Petteway does indeed return next year, I am assuming everyone is gonna know who we are. The Huskers will no longer be a surprise.

Nebraska may be ranked at some point next season.

Doesn't surprise me.

I'm working so couldn't catch the game, but in my opinion Michigan State is one of the top 4 teams in the country.

I really hate to say it, but winning on the road in College Basketball is harder to do than any other sport out there........and winning at East Lansing is damn neared impossible for anyone to do, including highly ranked teams.

I don't think so. Last team to win a conference tourney was in the Big 8. It was a Nee team though IIRC.

That's back when we had Chubick, Piatkowski, Strickland and company.

Yeah Strickland and Piatkowski both played a lot of NBA ball. The other guys maybe some semi pro and overseas stuff. Don't know if they ever made a roster or not.

Strick and the Rifle were both on TV a lot.

BracketMatrix.com has Nebraska in the NIT as a 4 seed right now.

Basically Nebraska is a lock for the NIT as long as they win the home games that they are expected to win against Penn State, Purdue, and Northwestern.

Any other win would be a bonus and would obviously push us closer to the bubble for the NCAA Tourney.

As of right now, no experts have us anywhere in their bubbles......which isn't too surprising.
