Not impossible if Nebraska wins the tourney, but Tracy Smith (Indiana) will probably get it again. They'll likely win the regular season. They'd have to collapse not to.

Just to give an example of how bad the Big 10 is in baseball.....

Nebraska is 44th in RPI (released today). That's down from 44th last week after a convincing sweep of Penn St over the weekend.

Indiana is 4th in RPI. That's down from 2nd last week after an equally convincing sweep of Purdue.

That's why Nebraska can't rest on their laurels to get into a Regional without getting an auto-bid by winning the Big 10 Tournament.

Not sure why, but Nebraska's series @ Michigan St is Saturday thru Monday instead of the traditional Friday thru Sunday series. As I pointed out earlier, it makes for a tough regular season closing stretch w/ 7 games in 8 days.

Michigan St is trying to lock itself in the Big 10 Tourney (8 teams) so Sparty will give the Huskers all they have.

wtf, i didn't realize Wisc didn't play baseball. but I'm sure outside of probably NU and maybe Indiana, most schools are losing money on baseball.

I'm thinking about maybe taking Wednesday May 21st off of work and going to all the games that day. it's only $17, seems like a good deal for 4 games. can't go Thurs or Fri during the day, but could go those nights. Could buy tickets for Sat too. that might work better so i dont' have to take off work. hmm, will need to think about this, this weekend.

The true definition of a 'Cinderella' is first time in Omaha. If there's not a team that's "first time in Omaha", then it can default somewhat to a team that's rarely been there and are a big underdog. Generally a mid-major.
