Thanks, Texas will need more than luck. Texas has few fans outside of their fanbase, but that's to be expected, especially when they have had the success they have had. America loves the underdog.

Actually Texas themselves has very few fans within the fanbase. They generally only show up if they make it to the championship series.

Remember the time the Texas team refused to come out on the field to accept the Runner Up (2nd Place) Trophy?

Oh, you going to go there and where is Nebraska? Not in the CWS as usual. Texas has been in the CWS more times in the 21st Century than Nebraska has been ever.

Suck it up.

"UT's title hopes crash with 3-2 loss to Fullerton

02:38 PM CDT on Monday, June 28, 2004

By BRIAN DAVIS / The Dallas Morning News

OMAHA, Neb. – A season full of national championship hopes for the Texas baseball team came to a stumbling, humbling end Sunday at the College World Series.

Cal State Fullerton exploited UT's bullpen and defense for the second straight day and notched a 3-2 win at Rosenblatt Stadium. Catcher Kurt Suzuki drove in the game-winning run in the seventh as the Titans swept the best-of-3 championship series and clinched their first national title since 1995.
When Bobby Andrews reeled in David Maroul's fly ball for the game's final out, the Titans quickly formed a pinstriped dogpile in the infield. The Longhorns stood motionless in their dugout then shuffled out quietly, almost zombie-like.

The No. 1-ranked team in college baseball and the No. 1 national seed in the NCAA tournament got thumped here in Omaha, mainly by its own doing. UT (58-15) had six errors and two blown saves against Fullerton (47-22).

"I'm not going to go into the specifics of what went wrong, because it's over. It doesn't matter," UT coach Augie Garrido said. "Baseball creates adversity. Our team did their best to overcome it. Cal State Fullerton did better."

UT players even refused to come out and collect the second-place trophy during the postgame awards ceremony. NCAA officials went to UT's dressing room twice to summon anybody wearing burnt orange. Dennis Poppe, NCAA director of championships, said it was the first time in 17 years the losing team failed to collect the runner-up trophy.

"We don't have to have the trophy to know we're champions," Garrido said."

LMAO

Lost game 1 (1-0) as well.

Suck it up.

Nebraska is a northern team. Getting here in 2001, 2002, and 2005 was quite an accomplishment. They also don't have near the economic and recruiting resources Texas does though, right? That's what you Texas peeps keep throwing in peoples faces regarding why you'll forever dominate college athletics in everything.

So Cal - 21 trips to CWS (12 Championships) (11 since 1958)
ASU....- 22 trips to CWS (5 Championships) (All since 1965)
LSU.... - 16 trips to CWS (6 Championships) (All since 1986)
Texas. - 34 trips to CWS (6 Championships) (4 in 32 trips since 1952)

That's why Texas fans don't travel well to the CWS. The percentage of actual championships is atrocious. It's also why they refused to come out of their locker room and accept the Runner-Up Trophy.
