There has been a lot of parity this year.

Not sure why?

I'm hoping it's because baseball is becoming more popular. Despite LSU playing like garbage and having an awful coach, this has been a solid post season. Seems like so many people are shocked College of Charleston is still alive, but I like to believe most people who follow baseball are aware of howgood this program is. Always have a chance to make some noise, great for the sport to see them still playing. Hell I like them to advance to Omaha. Would love to see Kennesaw State advance as well, never underestimate a small league team with raw skills even down one game.

Watch the Horns. Augie knows how to get to Omaha and win. He's done it with two different teams.

I wonder if Mack getting canned woke him up?

Last season the entire starting pitching staff was out with season ending injuries, injuries decimated the 2012 squad, also. This year, we have only lost Dillon Peters, which does hurt. He was one of the Top 3 UT pitchers.

Texas beats Houston 4-2 on 11 hits and no errors. Houston had 8 hits and 1 error. Payton got it started right in the 1st inning with a 2 run homer, only his 2nd of the season.

Okie State loses to UC-Irvine 4-8.

Hope TX comes up short, of course. Houston has shown the ability to come up big with their backs to the wall. Hopefully they can do it again today -- and tomorrow. Eat 'em up!

The weather is excellent and the wind is 15mph from the south, so there may be a homer or 2. For those that don't know Disch-Falk is large and homers are rare.

I watched the game yesterday, so I know that it is a big park. Based on what I saw of TX yesterday, and what I've seen of Houston this year, I have to figure that the wind blowing out probably favors UT. UH seems to rely more on stringing together a series of hits than knocking a few out. Horns pitchers weren't allowing either yesterday. Hope that changes today, of course.

Yeah, every year there are a few mid-majors that put it all together. I think they surprise because they don't get the exposure the big 5 teams get. The MLB draft (minor leagues) deplete some of the big guys too, so the mid-majors can quietly put veteran teams together.

I'm a Maryland fan right now. This is their first post-season in 40+ years, they would be a CWS Cinderella, they'll be Big 10 next season, and we need someone to rep the north.

I figured you would know, my statement was for the out of state fans. Texas has 21 home runs this season, while allowing only 6, but most have been on road games.

The Texas pitcher will be either French or Hollingsworth, probably French. He won the earlier game on 3/1, 3-2, but was lucky. Houston outhit Texas 9-4 and also got more errors 4-2.

Despite the MD bullpen doing their best to give the game away, they held on. 1 down ... 1 more to go for a trip to Omaha. :hope:

Texas scores 4 in the bottom of the 4th off of 4 hits and it's 4-0. It's now top of the 7th.
