I been with this team for about 53 years (47 that I can remember). I still hopeful but not over confident (I remember the "Another Bites the Dust" year). I also must confess ... the 49ers are my second favorite team (every Lions fan has a 2nd favorite team, it's called survival)

Excellent taste on the 49ers and I commend the Lions dedication. If Stafford stays upright, you guys will be solid.

I've never had a second team in any sport. I've had other teams that I've respected (Colts, Patriots), but I cannot root for anybody outside of Michigan.

Same for me, in that there will be other teams I'm interested in or have players I like. But root for means I take it hard if they lose, really get upset about it. That's only one team per sport for me. Actually less than 1 per sport since I really only follow football and college BB.

I've also not gone through as many losing seasons as you! Given another 20-30 years, I'd probably do the same thing.
