Those are the type of wins that earn you a B1G Title. Minnesota was on their game today. They were above 50% on threes. They were draining every mid-range jumped. The crowd was behind them. Even when we made a play, the ball always seemed to trickle to a wide-open Gopher. We won this game because we had three of the best four players on the court. They all had to play to their skills in order for us to win this, and thank god, they did.

The biggest difference between Gard and Bo is how they use their bench. Bo consistently used 7-8 guys and it was unheard of for him to use more than 10. Gard always uses at least 10, and he gives the big-time bench guys a lot more minutes. It'll be good if it gives our top players more energy come tournament time, but it almost cost us the game today. Hill was getting killed repeatedly. His travel when we had a chance to put the game away was awful. His no-foul with 11 seconds left and 2 fouls to give, on a wide-open three, when we were up three, was one of the stupidest plays I can ever recall the Badgers making. And passing to Happ up one in OT almost cost us the game. Let them foul you or call a timeout and let us try to get it back in to Bronson. Hopefully, he learns his lesson.

And I'm really impressed with the Gophers. To go from their trainwreck last season to this bunch is a huge difference. And Coffey is about as ideal as you can get for a Freshman...he's great enough to turn a team around without being enough of a superstar to likely leave early. I hope I'm wrong about that, because I don't want to deal with him for three more years.

Pretty spot on. Badgers had the 3 studs. Gophers had the quality depth. Great game. Hayes has to be maddening at times for you guys. He should have just backed down curry all day.

You're right on Coffey. Unless he really bulks up or his 3pt stroke gets really good he will be at the U a while. Which is dangerous.

His travel with 22 seconds in the game when up by 3 was great. I blame the coach for having him in the game. Same goes for Happ being in the game when Minn needed to foul. Bronson keeps saving our ass.

Happ in the game makes sense because he is a great defensive rebounder and we would have needed him on defense if Bronson missed the front end of the one and one. That's a problem with our team only having one true center, not an issue with our coaches making the wrong decision.

If Happ ever fouls out, we are fucked. If I was an opposing coach, I'd target Ethan the entire time trying to get him to five. I mean, who plays center? Illikainen has been completely horrid (maybe the worst regular contributor of the last fifteen years), Van Vliet is still a twig, and putting Nigel at Center costs us our beat wing and makes our center undersized.

Yup. That's how Marquette played vs Wisconsin for a half. Got him out quick.

Happ coming back coupled with the usual 7 minute meltdown resulted in a loss. But the blue print is to get him fouls quick!

Nw going to finally end their tourneyless streak this year??

Unless they have an epic collapse they will be in the Tourney this season. I can see them being in the top 25 next week if they win their next 2 games.

Great defense by Alex for the Badgers giving up 2 wide open three pointers. He just gets worse almost every game.

Another scrub team keeping the game close vs the Badgers. Too many missed FT's, dumb TO's and to much Alex on the court.

Penn State ranks last in the Big Ten in field goal percentage (40.9%). Currently shooting 52.2 percent against #Badgers

I miss Thomas. Every time AI steps on the floor I cringe and it just gets worse with the more minutes he plays.

Why did this team need to win at Purdue and NW? Gave me a false sense of hope that we'd make the tournament. This team is finished.

Backing in would be losing 3 out of the last 5 games or something. Minnesota needs to get on a hot streak to make it now. They can't afford to lose more than 3 games or they might be done.

Huh?

If they lost 3 more that would mean a 10-8 big 10 finish lmao. They would be like a 6 seed.

They were a 8 seed and 3-4 lmao.

I've seen this play out all too many times. Head scratching wins(Purdue, NW) head scratching losses(MSU at home, at PSU). I hate the inconsistency. This team has taken a year off of my life. lol.

If they only lose 3 more games(including the B1GT) Minnesota is a lock, with a single digit seed, and maybe even as high as a 4/5 seed. They would finish 26-9, a top 15 RPI and a top 10 SoS. Now does that happen? Probably not. Fortunately for Minnesota they stepped up their OOC schedule, unlike most of the teams in the B1G this year.

O no doubt about that. It is frustrating but the team is still in good shape. Lunardi still has them as an 8 because their computer numbers check out. Schedule gets easier so time to win. I'll be real disappointed with a loss at home to marylsnd. I think they are overrated.

Michigan needs to win tonight. No excuses. Be one of the reasons Crean is fired.
