I don't have a problem with any of those hires, if they are hired. All bring experience to the table. All have produced honors players and squads in their careers.

It's not unusual for a coach to bring some of his staff along with him. Don't treat it like he is hiring all of his buddies from Thursday night bowling league. These are legitimate, quality coaches.

My first reaction to Riley is you got to be kidding me. Then I looked deeper and I liked what I saw.

So now I'm going to wait and see. He's the coach and if he has guys that he trusts to do the job it's his job to make that call. These are guys he's worked with so we'll see. The dc worries me but with better personnel it may be okay.

we don't know what all of them are doing yet. I mean it's clear that Cavanaugh is going to be the OL coach and Read will be the ST coach. but Banker could be coming in as a position coach for all we know. Banker at DC is maybe the only thing i don't like, but again, given what they were working with at OrSU, the upgrade in talent might make it fine. won't know until some coaching actually happens.

Banker hasn't had position responsibility in two years. I'm pretty sure he is gonna be the DC if comes here.

Well, here is the issue that I have with bringing buddies.

We've seen it with the past 2 coaches.

And when it comes to the point where a change needs to be made, it's real difficult to push your buddies out the door.

So, I hope that either Riley has the balls to do that if and when the time comes...........or I hope that they all pan out.

So bringing in Orgeron would qualify as bringing in his buddy? I am sure that a coach with Rileys experience is "Buddies" with a lot of other coaches. Can he not hire any of them because they are buddies? There is nothing presented to suggested that Riley is anything but a professional.
He is bringing in people who are familiar with his program. People he is comfortable with when it comes to getting the job done. People he considers "experts."
