so any chance they can get in without the 35Ws you were talking about earlier?

Sure hope that series win means they are going to get it together for Michigan and the Big10 tournament. I've been thinking about trying to get the boys down to one of the Big10 games, probably not the husker game, i figure it will be easy to get tickets to all of the others.

going into this weekend...first five out..so that means there is a good chance.

As Callahan points out their RPI is damn good.

Wins over Texas Tech, Baylor (series), and now Ariz St (series).

Win the series against Michigan and a few in the Big 10 tourney might get them in without an auto-bid.

Similar situation with sMiles though. They start coaching late in the season when they're on the hot-seat.

Winning late is more desperation on the part of the players than it is coaching, IMO.

Still wasn't a pretty game offensively. Would love to see the bats come alive today

Husker fans are crazy when there’s something to play for.

9:45 start and still plenty of people at the ballpark

I'm skeptical.

I feel the same as I did with sMiles. How much of this (4-2) run is pure desperation out of the players rather than coaching?

They'll still need to win a couple games in the Big 10 Tourney to make the NCAA's IMO. They are 35th in RPI, but if you look at the other teams the vast majority have over 30 wins where Nebraska's sitting at 28.
D1Baseball's RPI Nitty Gritty

I realize they're "projected" to make the NCAA's but I personally think they're still in a 'play in' situation. That doesn't bode well considering Erstad's post season record.

Considering they're playing in the Big 10, Nebraska shouldn't be in this position of 'If they can just win a couple more in the Big 10 Tourney'. They wouldn't be if they were still in the Big 12 IMO It's like since they're playing in the Big 10 there's no sense of urgency out of Erstad in March/April.

I no longer feel they 'have to' rely on winning the Big 10 tournament and getting the auto-bid. Just getting to the championship game would add 4 more wins.

And if they make the postseason then what with Erstad?

What if they make the postseason and don’t win a single game again?

BTW.......Arizona St has lost 5 out of their last 6 series.

USC: (1-2) L
Oregon St (1-2) L
Utah (2-1) W
Washington (1-2) L
UCLA (1-2) L
Nebraska (1-2) L

Michigan's SOS is just 173.

It would be more of the same.

If I were Moos I would take a good hard look at why Nebraska's best talent leaves the state to play elsewhere? I'm not talking about those that leave to play at the likes of Stanford or other prestigious baseball schools. I'm talking about Minnesota, Wichita St, etc...

I don’t see any reason why they shouldn’t finish no worse than 3rd every year in conference, barring injuries.

Right now they’re projected a 4 or 5 seed.

If they don’t win a game in the B1G tournament and miss the postseason then I wouldn’t have a problem with a change.

If they make the postseason and don’t win a game then I wouldn’t have a problem with a change.

Yep. If Minnesota hangs on to Beat Northwestern, Nebraska will finish 5th in the Big 10.

Minnesota is up 6-5 in the 9th right now.

Minnesota and Illinois both hold the head-to-head over Nebraska.

Illinois holds the head-to-head over Minnesota
