While I think the Mavericks did a fine job at free agency, people are giving the team far too much credit.

Dirk is getting older, Harris is getting older, and although Jordan is a great defender nobody knows what he'll be like offensively without CP3 throwing him lobs.

Yes they'll be a playoff team but probably a 1st round exit.
Dallas is going to be good. I still think if LA goes to the Spurs(I think this will happen) no one is beating them.

Well apparently $80 isnt enough, unless he just wants the last year as an opt-out. If these rumors are even true. I would think he would be more than happt with $16/year.

That's not how LeBron plays his game with Gilbert.
Not doing everything and everything he wants is a clear rule violation.
Under any normal circumstance Tristan isn't getting offered anything near 80 but under these circumstances if James insists he gets 90 it's a done deal.
He has no other offers from any other team.

I believe I read earlier in the year that having James generates around an extra 120-130M in ticket sales revenue.
Based on the projected luxury taxes Gilbert might actually have put himself in a position to makes less profit by having James on the roster then not.

who cares he got rings from it.

You mean Riley and Arison?

You're just arguing to argue at this point.
The 4M Arison is repaying Wade is exactly that.
He's making good on a debt owed.

If anyone wants to give me 5M this year I'll gladly agree to give you back 4 next year.

Yeah but there are more profits than just tickets. Plus didnt the value of franchise like double when James came back, I heard something like that.

I'm sure the value went up, but unless he sells the team while the value is up it means nothing because once James is gone, so is the added value.

Cavs are trying to get David West which would make zero sense when you already have a front court of Love, Tristan, Mozgov, & Andy

Wow Cuban said DeAndre Jordan is "Shaq like" lmao

There is no way Cuban actually believe that nonsense

"We see him as “Shaq-like” but never having been given the opportunity," Cuban told the radio show. "We told him if he came to the Mavs, he would be a focal point. He would grow into being a franchise player."

Mark Cuban says he sees DeAndre Jordan as 'Shaq-like' - LA Times

That bolded is the most interesting part to me. The Cavs are essentially being forced to bid against themselves.

He wasn't going to leave. If u offered 16 mill again he would of stayed. He loves south beach and Miami. Only way he was leaving was if u offered under 12 mill. No team would of offered anything close to that and he knew that. Im just saying 20 mill is a lot and it some what screwed u from adding any players this year. Can miami live with this contract yes but its an unusually move from Pat. Not like him.

Seriously, how hard is the concept of a salary cap to grasp? Okay, I'll try to break it down as simple as I can. If Wade had gone somewhere else, Miami would've had to shed salary to replace him considering we're over the salary cap as is. Whether Miami had signed Wade to $10 mil, $15 mil, or $20 mil......fuck, let's say $8 mil.....they still would've been over the cap.

Miami can still add players, through the one MLE they have and fill out the rest of the roster with vet minimums. This notion that Wade's contract screws the Heat just means that Arison has to pay deeper into the luxury tax. For the life of me, I have never seen anyone fail to grasp such a simple concept.

Good luck getting that title in Cleveland now. I'll take Spurs core over Cavs.
