Probably so. Maxed out a guy at 29 that has probably hit his peak already. The way the contracts are going, it probably isnt more than expected honestly.

$18 mil is a lot for him, he got the same as Leonard lol

Yeah, but Leonard is UNDERPAID, especially with the new projections a couple seasons down the road.

Yeah and he isn't even close to leonard. I would paid 12-14 mill for him.

You act like the Heat was the only team who would pay him that much.
He could have picked from several if he wanted to leave.

You need to quit looking at the Leonard contract as the norm.
Look at Anthony Davis.
While Leonard isn't on his level, he's still an elite NBA talent who did the Spurs a HUGE favor.

He's the perfect pilot for this plane.
Good luck defending the Heat's starting 5.
I think Heat will be a playoff team but nothing special. U have aging PG(Dragic-somewhat aging), SG(Wade), SF(Deng), and PF(Bosh). I wouldn't want to play them in the 1st rd but health will always be an issue with the Heat until they get younger.

Here's the thing, you didn't mention Whiteside and I think he's our difference maker.

Gotta have a bench. There are going to be some deep teams next year.

I'm not Wiggy predicting 90 wins and a dynasty/championship...
I'm talking a solid team, fun to watch, where advancing deep in the playoffs could be a realistic possibility, especially after watching the East last season crumble to the ground (except for the Cavs).

Prior to drafting Russell, I'm pretty sure the Lakers were prepared to offer him a max or damn close to it.

Some of the long-term deals signed this week are going to seem bad right now... but in a couple years when the cap jumps... and these guys are still locked in for 3 more years.... most of the contracts are going to look great, IMO.

I think that's what some folks are forgetting. There is a big cap jump coming next year. This years bad contract is going to be next years great (or at least not too bad) contract.

5 year, $90 mill but still will seem to be bargain when cap increases

Yeah and true max players will get 30-40 mil a year. It is going to be hard to get used to. That is just a shit ton of money.

I'm sure that $90 million will make playing 2nd fiddle to Rose a whole lot easier to accept.

Yeah, when I saw The Brow's contract my initial reaction was :wtf:

But when I thought about the cap increase, I thought, that's gonna be a good deal in a couple of seasons.
