Is he playing PF?

I think that's insane...lol

I read the other day that Koufas would be the starting center for Sacto and Boogie would be playing the 4.

No way PG should be checking guys like Bg32, Davis, Ibaka, Aldridge or Bosh...among others.

So he certainly can't do a thing with a guy like Cousins.

Yeah he is. Bird is a clown. He clearly doesn't have the body to play the 4 nightly. He isn't Melo or LBJ who actually can play PF most nights due to their body. They're going to be a really bad rebounding team if they use a starting lineup of Hill, Ellis, CJ Miles, George, and whoever the C is.

LeBron is going no where.

He has Kyrie and Love signed up long term at absolutely great prices- 2 guys just ENTERING their primes.

Love is 26 and is making an average of 22 million for the next 4 years.

Kyrie is 23 and is making an average of about 17 million for the next 4 years.

With how salaries are going up- those deals are going to be- if not extremely beneficial to the team, certainly on the lower side of what contracts will look like going forward -- when soon and very soon- players with not nearly the pedigree and talent of Love and Irving (2 legitimate all stars- and 2 guys that can ABSOLUTELY be the 2nd and 3rd best player on a championship team) will be making MUCH MUCH more than the about 20M or so a year those 2 guys average out too.

If you are building a team going forward- and you have Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love as about 40M of your payroll for the next 4 years- you have a GREAT FOUNDATION- --- King James is NOT LEAVING THAT and ruining his reputation in the process. It makes no sense- from a media standpoint, marketing standpoint, winning standpoint....anyway you cut it.

If LeBron James leaves the Cleveland Cavaliers- and says it was because Dan Gilbert would only offer Tristan Thompson 16 a year instead of 19 a year- I will fly to Florida and landscape your property that whole following summer! LOL

All you are once again doing is preaching best case scenario HOPE.
Time has shown that James will make his decision at the end of every season.
If Love/Kyrie show they can stay healthy for an entire post season and the Cavs thrive, then you are correct.
However, if either or both break down when it's "GO" time, then what makes you fell that James will have confidence in them moving forward?

I really hope Thompson comes to his senses.

I of course want him in camp- but he is simply not a top 20 player in basketball and he should NOT be paid like one. Hamstringing the roster with a guy making max money who does not deserve max money is not something I see the CAvs doing. 16M is PLENTY for Thompson. Like I have said- good for him- he gambled on himself last summer- and it paid off....he hit the lotto and now he is doubling down and public opinion is against him right now.

The signing of Sasha Kaun really is a nice insurance policy- this guy started ahead of Mozgov on the Russian National team- and is coming over to the states because he married his wife that he met while attending Kansas U. and she wants to come back to the states. He is actually taking a significant pay cut to come to the NBA.

If it comes down to losing Thompson or paying nearly 20M a season for him- if he keeps up that demand- i do not know where this will go.

I would think concessions will eventually be made on both sides- but we shall see...

The Dude is out of his mind.

Averaging 8 and 8 does not entitle you to a max deal.

This is what happens when you sign an agent solely based on who he is friends with.

At least Durant went with a team that is accustomed to setting up major sponsorship for their clients.

Seriously, just trade him for Markief Morris and be done with it.

Yeah...

Judging by Larry Legends public statements, he could careless how George feels about the switch.

It's a dictatorship, not a democracy.

If things look ugly around Xmas, do you think they will consider moving him?

He's gonna get manhandled in the post and won't get much help on the boards with Jordan Hill and a very young Miles Turner as the best options at Center.

Hill is energetic and a presence on the boards, he could average 9-10rpg if George is the starter at PF.

Matt Barnes attacks Derek Fisher for dating his estranged wife

Knicks coach Derek Fisher is involved in a romantic relationship with the estranged wife of his former teammate Matt Barnes — and when Barnes found out over the weekend, he allegedly attacked Fisher, sources tell Page Six.

Sources said Fisher was at the LA home of Gloria Govan — Barnes’ estranged wife, who stars on “Basketball Wives LA” — on Saturday. Fisher and Govan have been dating for “a few months,” a source said, after Fisher filed to divorce his wife of 10 years, Candace, in March.

But when Barnes learned that Fisher was at his former home with Gloria, he drove 95 miles to LA to “beat the s–t” out of Fisher, sources said.

“Derek was in Gloria’s back yard with about 10 people having a bonfire on Saturday,” said a source. “Derek’s separated from his wife and there’s a relationship with [Gloria].”

The source added, “Barnes was in Santa Barbara [at Memphis Grizzlies training camp] and heard that Fisher was in his house. He went crazy. He got in his car and went to the house and went after Fisher.”

Another source said, “Someone told Matt that Fisher was at the house and he drove down there — he went over to confront Derek.

A source close to Fisher confirmed the fight but said, “Matt came after Derek but he only had a few scratches … Derek’s not going to press charges, he’s going to let it go.”

Fisher left the scene before cops arrived, and we hear that Govan’s planning to file a restraining order.

Another source said that the altercation was the reason Fisher missed Knicks practice on Monday — but others said that he had been traveling back to New York on Sunday and was delayed because of plane trouble. The Knicks tweeted on Monday that Fisher was “not at practice due to personal reasons — expected back tomorrow.” He was in LA visiting his kids.

Barnes — who played with Fisher on the Lakers — made headlines recently when he told TMZ that he and pop star Rihanna were “just past the crush stage,” and Rihanna fired back that she’d never met the player.

Barnes has had trouble with the law in the past: He was arrested in 2010 on suspicion of domestic violence but he disputed the charges, and again in 2012 on a misdemeanor traffic warrant.

Govan said this year of her impending divorce from Barnes: “Matt and I were together for eight years. And I think the course of our relationship is just due to evolution. We’re always gonna be good friends. Obviously we have kids together.”

A Knicks rep said the team’s offered total support of Fisher. A Grizzlies rep did not immediately return a call for comment. Govan’s agent, David Arrigotti, had no comment, and her publicist did not immediately return calls. Barnes’ agent did not immediately return calls.

VEGAS GRANTING CAVS A BYE TO FINALS?

Las Vegas sportsbooks are all but giving Cleveland the Eastern Conference title now, pegging them as a 1-4 favorite to advance to the NBA Finals. You would have to wager $400 in order to profit $100, assuming the Cavs do win the East.

They are not moving Paul George - ever. There is no way.

The Pacers were almost a playoff team last year without George- losing West , etc. I think they should make the playoffs in the East. There are still some teams in the EAst that are just not that great- Sixers, Magic, Nets, Pistons, Bobcats, Knicks....Boston is very well coached but has no one even CLOSE to PG....

Paul George is definitely a top 5 player in the East.

The best players in the East?

LeBron is one obviously

then there is a pool of guys- Paul George, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, John Wall, Jimmy Butler.......honestly- so hard to rank these guys--- ESPECIALLY melo...i could seen an argument for him being 2nd best after LEBron or him being the last guy on this list. I dont think many people would have PAul George lower than the 3rd or 4th best player in the EAst and I think a decent amount of people would say he is the 2nd best player in the East....with that smattering of vets around him in Indiana and a good coach and a commitment to defense they should be a playoff team i think...

Watching the Cavs/Hawks and Lebron brought some little girl out of the stands to sit next to him on the bench. Very cool thing to do.

They don't have a great roster.

So, I wouldn't say never.

Yes, when healthy he is a stud.

It is really hard to rank those guys.

It would probably come down to preference.

I expect Jabari Parker to be a top 20 guy once he gets a full Season under his belt.

The way to get back at Matt is to continue to date his wife. Matt is an idiot. LOL

I wouldn't say he's an idiot. Someone who he considered a friend back stabbed him. Back when Fish was married, all 4 of them used to hang out together. Fisher is a low life. Let's also not forget he missed a day of practice to visit his GF. What other coach is doing this? Who's flying across the country, missing a day of practice with a team who just finished with 17 wins last year to visit your girlfriend who is still married to your friend? Dude is a scumbag. I wish Matt would have fucked him up some more to be honest with you.

Well my opinion of Matt stems far beyond this recent debacle. His lack of control and acting out behavior is too much all the time....despite his position of being a PROFESSIONAL athlete.
If he and Gloria are no longer together and she wants to date one of his old teammates that's her business. Matt needs to get his life together. Her and Fish dating might bee messed up but that doesn't give Matt a "free pass" to act a donkey. SMH
