Thanks for that link jstew, that was excellent.

I can see eagles fans/teammates being really angry at the guy (especially after reading about him potentially moonlighting as a fireman while he was a pro football player lol)

but at some point you just got to just give it the :ohwell:

Manziel is going to be a bust. His size is an issue. His arm strength is an issue. However, the biggest issue is from what I understand Kevin Sumlin gave very little of his playbook to Manziel. Johnny improvised a lot. I'm not sold on Mariota either. I wouldn't select Winston at all. To much baggage.

That was a great read.

I imagine Eagles fans are the only ones pissed off about this (I know, shocking since they're normally such a gentle group). Some of the comments in the article left me shaking my head.

Personally, I think he did the right thing if that's what makes him happy.

In other news, Jay Cutler - he of the 7 year $126M+ with $54M guaranteed contract - is going to ride the pine this weekend.

His replacement: Jimmy Clausen. You know you're in trouble when you're getting benched for Jimmy Clausen.

Henceforth, to be known as Jimmy 'Santa' Clausen.

/At least that's what I'm going to call him.

i would think his former teammates and alot of other players feel the same way (the article intimated that) ...

all the majority seems to know or care about in life is football

i liken the sentiment to when Pat Tillman walked away from the NFL and Jim Rome was interviewing former Tillman teammate Simeon Rice about Tillmans decision and instead of addressing the selfless act Tillman was making, Rice responded with "he really wasn't that good." :ohwell:

Fair enough. Not clear from the way I wrote my comment was that I was trying to refer only to those outside the football world.

He's likely to be delivering presents to the Bears opposition for the next two games. I struggled watching him play the majority of a season here in Carolina before they drafted Cam Newton. Let's just say it was no coincidence they ended up with the number 1 overall that year.

You wonder if Wally Buono is waiting to see what happens with Bears coach Marc Trestman as the BC Lions still have a head coaching vacancy.

it sounds like the first choice is Jeff Tedford and Tedford may be wanting to take a step back from the rigors of NCAA/NFL coaching due to his health problems ... CFL is *alledgedly* less stressful lol

I think it was Lowell Ulrich who asked Buono the question yesterday ... paraphrasing ... "dont you want to get this guy signed to a contract before you let him leave Vancouver to potentially receive other coaching offers that may be rolling in"

and Buono kinda let it slip that Tedford was already looking for a place to live in vancouver lol

/also never heard of a coach being given a physical but alas tedford took one when he "visited" Lions facility this week

Hey, what's your deal, Jim?

According to CBS 5, Michigan has offered Jim Harbaugh a six-year, $49 million contract to become the Wolverines' next head coach, which he is considering.
