PJ earned a ship after 3 years without one.... Thats a big difference IMO...

Yes Hoke got 1 and Saban offered 1 but I dont think its a big need....

Technically PJ was promissed a ship no matter what during his recriitment. But i get your point

Long snappers are extremely valuable if you have a really good one, and a good punter/kicker to go with it.

This kid has some serious snap and speed on his ball... the less time it takes from the flinch of his hands to the punter has the ball in his hand.... the better. 1. The punter can be more relaxed and have time to adjust to anything he sees, or to simply flow through the kick and either boom it or finesse it. 2. Less chance of getting a blocked kick giving opponent tremendous field position.


I could go on on and on about the benefits of a GREAT long snapper, which this kid looks like he has thee potential to be.


But I'll just keep it simple- A great long snapper is a kicker/punters best friend.

We have the room this year, I'm happy with this kid getting offered and committing. Bama and michigan both have a LS committed, the only other 2 players ranked ahead of Miller, at that position in the nation. He's a smart kid as well, just add another AAA to our list.
