Could it be that our next ILB starter was an undrafted FA for another team (Saints) who we picked up when they released him? I seem to remember that the Saints released him to sign someone else thinking they were going to re-sign him the next day and the Broncos swooped in and signed him. All that to say, here's an article on our likely starter at ILB in 2016:

Todd Davis hopes film studies leads to Broncos' starting linebacker spot

It's his job to lose with Zaire Anderson sniffing his back, and yes he was cut by the Saints in hopes they could re-sign him to their PS.

Davis seems to really be impressive in practice. I still need to see more in games before I crown him the next big thing at LB, but the coaching staff has raved about him since the day they signed him.

Thanks for the read. What I love reading is that our players seem unsatisfied with just coasting this next season. Love to hear that our guys are just as motivated for this upcoming year as that of the past 5. We have seen the players who have been willing to put in all the extra work to be great. I mean Chris Harris is the perfect example of a guy who has outworked everybody to get where he is today. He isn't the fastest/biggest/strongest corner in the league but he has worked his tail off to be the best and now he is regarded by many as easily a top-5 Corner in this league.

I really liked the part where he set up a study in his home and was working on breaking down each play. Unlike @randymon who likes the smashmouth brand of football, I gravitate to the guys who use their brains. ;)

I think one of the biggest plays of the year last year was based on a player recognizing a play and breaking off of their actual assignment to make the play. The AFC Championship game on one of the 4th down plays where they rolled I think Edelman out the backside and he would have been wide open most likely for a touchdown if Harris hadn't broken off his guy and came back to make the play. We are not winning the Super Bowl without such heads up plays from extensive film study.

Well Janovich did say just keep hitting people with his head until his head starts hurting. Not sure that is the smartest way to go about playing football. Believe me I love his toughness and can't wait to see him play but I'm hoping he plays with a little more intelligence than just launching himself at somebody.

When you're a fullback, that's what they consider "using your head".:dhd:

You sure that wasn't Talib?

Almost certain it was Harris that made the play. Edelman was Talib's guy but they had built it where there was so much traffic for Talib to get through that he most likely wouldn't have made it in time. Harris saw this and went off his man to make the play.

It was Harris.

Talib made the final play of the game on the 2 point conversion that Roby picked off after the tip by Talib.

When I think of that Patriots playoff game, that Harris play is always the play I remember that sticks out to me.

I always think of Owen Daniels best game as a bronco too.

and of course Hillman being an idiot and watching a backwards pass rolling around his feet and not bothering to pick it up because his football IQ is that of a goat utter.

And here I thought all along it was the game planning and the smart players.

(Of course I was in Russia and DC was texting me the play by play and that's what he was telling me!)

Very true when Ward and Stewart were out and Keo and Bush were in there Brady ripped them on that last drive. Was very apparent the value of Ward and Stewart. Of course in Keo's and Bush's defense, they barely had anytime to work with D before that game. They both looked better after that. Denver's back-end is going to be even stronger this year IMO

Todd Davis is a serious player - more power to him.

If the run game works - everything the Broncos are works better.
