I think Mac got a longer leash than most coaches would have because he has been part of the organization for so long. Lou's loyalty blinded him from the obvious.

If you completely change a team and/or bring in a bunch of new pieces, you have to give a new coach time. Do I blame Mac? Yes. Do I think he was doing a good job? No. But to be fair, Lou didn't stay with him for a whole year or even a half of a year. It was 34 games.

Which is exactly why as a fan I'm happy hes gone, but if I was in a position of power I also would have waited just as long if not longer to make a move. Helly I still feel bad for Barry Melrose for getting fired from Tampa Bay after 16 games, and their expectations were no where near as high as ours.

beek has lou around to run the day to day operations. because he shouldnt have to worry about them (if thats what he wants to do) thats just like a regular business. why have managers? just have the owners and employees.

lou is here to make the moves he failed epic this time.

Where do you work? (It's rhetorical, you don't have to answer.) Has your boss's boss never stuck his nose in anything?

Exactly what I was getting at. As fans, we are sometimes too emotional and unable to step back from a situation. Or in some cases, we have no idea how the business actually works. 34 games for a new coach is nothing. As a fan, we want him gone yesterday. As a GM and owner, you have to give him that much time if not more.

no he has. what im saying is as an owner its your choice to do whatever you want. not saying thats right or wrong but just saying if beek wants to run things like george did with the yanks he can. or he can be absentee and just sign off on checks. fact is he hired a guy to run the day to day operations LOU.

I don't even want to get into this, but you realize that the George Steinbrenner formula is to spend more money than anyone else to win. If baseball had a cap, and he were in charge, the Yankees wouldn't have won a thing under him.
