I know I'm none of those 3 posters, but how many IDPs are you starting in your league?

Its a full keeper. We start 19 players. 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 K, 2 Def Ends, 1 Def Tackle, 2 Inside LBs, 2 Outside LBS, 2 Corners, 2 Safetys.

12 team league. We have 45 players on our rosters. At end of year we have to throw back 10 players we dont want so we keep 35 players, it's awesome.

Scoring on Offence is pretty much standard but we get two points for tackles, 1 for assists, and 5 for sacks

No worries, thanks man :suds:

I'm a fan of this kind of fantasy league, they're really interesting and with 2 PPT, that really makes for some interesting strategizing. In regards to your original question, I'm taking side A all day long. I really like both MJD and Austin this year, and I'm not real high on Teo right now.

I would go with side A on that one.

Foot, we've been over this... I was in a similar IDP league where you start a full 11-man defensive team. Since you've already have your foot wet in this league (your second year, right?), you should have learned from last year that some of the lower-tiered IDP are pretty non-consequential. If someone is affected by a bye week, you shouldn't have a problem finding a replacement CB or S.

Plus you've also learned that despite some lofty rankings, some IDP guys did not measure up to their hype. While other low-key players stepped up.

Just the way it happens with offense, so it happens with IDP. But IDP is less predictable.

So about this trade...

Side A: MJD; Lance Briggs; Miles Austin
Side B: Manti Teo; Jonathin Vilma; Ryan Mathews
Side A wins in a landslide. They have two offensive players. Lance Briggs may get half of the FF points that Austin will.

Anytime you pair up offensive skill players with IDP, the rank/potential of the offensive guy is what tilts the balance of the trade. There's just no way around it.

Let me put it another way. Even if Teo and Vilma have above average seasons, they still may only be looking at about 150 fantasy points each. If you had an offensive player with 150 points on your roster by the end of the season - he'd most likely be on your bench (unless you were really hurting).

If you really want to wheel and deal IDP, then trade only the IDP. Savvy?
