Los Angeles Rams safety T.J. McDonald was arrested Tuesday morning after crashing into a parked car, according to a TMZ report.

McDonald reportedly waited for police to arrive and was ultimately taken to the station for a DUI screening. He was eventually arrested for a non-alcohol related DUI. McDonald was released from jail by police.

McDonald has played in 37 games for the Rams over the last three seasons after being drafted out of USC in 2013. He appeared in 11 games for the Rams last season, recording 63 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble, before a shoulder injury landed him on injured reserve in December.

Rams safety T.J. McDonald arrested on suspicion of DUI after hitting parked car

Rams defensive back T.J. McDonald was arrested Tuesday morning and accused of driving under the influence of a substance other than alcohol, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman said.

Police said McDonald, 25, a former USC standout preparing to enter his fourth season with the Rams, hit a parked car in Woodland Hills on Tuesday morning, then was questioned on the scene.

McDonald was driven to a local police station, where officers allegedly determined that McDonald was under the influence, possibly of a prescription drug or a narcotic, and arrested him at 8:30 a.m., the spokesman said.

McDonald was released on $300 bail shortly after 6 p.m. and has a tentative court date of June 3.

A third-round draft pick in 2013, McDonald has played 37 games with the Rams and started all of them. Last season, he had 63 tackles in 11 games before he underwent season-ending shoulder surgery in December.

“We are aware of the incident involving T.J. McDonald this morning,” the Rams said in a statement. “We are gathering information and will have no further comment at this time.”

McDonald became the latest Rams player to deal with legal problems. Running back Tre Mason was arrested in Florida in March and faces misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest, marijuana possession and reckless driving. Mason has pleaded not guilty.

The Rams made news last month when they used a fourth-round draft pick on tight end Tyler Higbee, who has pleaded not guilty to second-degree assault charges in Ohio.

Also, on Tuesday, the Rams signed two free-agent receivers: J.J. Worton, who was arrested in January in Massachusetts and charged with assault, and Duke Williams, who was kicked off the Auburn football team last year after various alleged misdeeds, including a bar brawl.

A better bet is painkillers. He was coming off a shoulder injury and the league gives out dangerous painkillers like crazy while at the same time condemning cannabis use.

We are rapidly become a prison squad of potential felons and inmates. Right out of the Longest Yard movie I suppose. Frikin' Fisher and his savior complex is getting out of control.

It has nothing to do with Jeff Fisher. These guys are grown men and should know the difference from right or wrong. You can't baby sit them 24/7. It's a joke when you see idiot's like this do the things they do. Hopefully, it will amount to nothing (medication, etc.) due to the fact he waited for the cops to show up, but if not, see you in week 5 TJ.

I agree.

Fisher can't babysit these guys all the time.

and it's not like TJ has a history of this. hopefully everything works out okay.

No one got hurt? He didn't resist arrest? Didn't hit a female cop? Didn't get shot in the head?

Learn your lesson and move on son. It would be nice to see Fisher as more of a disciplinarian and not so dam laid back. I've often wondered why the team starts out the season so behind or "relaxed". The team is going to take on the personality of his coach. Didn't we practice at the beach a few days ago?

Like Bellicheat... No one gets in trouble, then Aaron Hernandez the serial killer!! haha

And I'm sure the LA scene is a bit different and not as conservative as the StL scene.

Of course Fisher has something to do with this because he and Snead keep drafting these players or signing them to a free agent contract instead of doing their due diligence to the point of sticking to some criteria that excludes these types of players and provides clear boundaries when present rostered players cross the line that should be set by the coach but in this case there is no accountability as SJ76 intimated.

Fisher and Snead have no criteria and they keep bringing them in. Granted, the severity of McDonald's arrest is not on the same level as some others but Snisher specifically and some in the NFL such as Belicheat choose to look the other way. There is no accountability at any severe level and these players just keep pulling this crap because of it. They know Fisher is not going to do anything unless the transaction is severe and then maybe they may still be on the roster. Capeeche?

I have a feeling we may get a talented WR starting for us by the name of Duke Williams that will fulfill these accusations quite well Retro. Stay tuned.

Snisher has a way of CYA with picks that pan out big like A. Donald, Havenstein, Gurley, and Ogletree to name some of the more recent.
