I'm sure Feaster is once again supremely confident that Calgary will make the POs and won't want to make any moves.

4 points out of 5th place, but also 4 points from the basement in the Western Conference. Trouble is, all the teams you need to leapfrog in order to gain ground (i.e you need to go on a 6 or 7 game winning streak and hope that other teams falter). I like to think of myself as an optimist, but it's not going to happen with this schizophrenic Flames team.

Yeah, the shortened season is going to compress things, which will probably hold trade deadline movement down.

The Sabres are the same. Only 4 points out of 8th, but only 2 points ahead of 15th. I don't expect them to make it either, but I don't expect them (or any team really) to be doing a lot of selling.

4 points isn't a lot on paper, but with the three point games, it can be a mountain.

It all depends on the three point games.

Yeah, and match-ups will play a big part too.

With nothing but conference games this year, things can change in a hurry.

Phoenix and Anaheim play again Wednesday night - Will it be another 5-4 Yotes shootwin win (like the previous two games)?

/Hate the 3-point game.

Speaking of the Flames and goalies:

"@ToriePeterson: #Flames prospect Karri Ramo just posted a shutout in Game 7 of the KHL Eastern Conference semi-final. 26 save performance."

He recorded three shutouts in the series for Avangard Omsk.

MacKenzie said Carolina & Florida are going to go with goalies from within for awhile. Florida has no reason to acquire a goalie. Their season is likely over.

Florida will go with Markstrom; goalie of the future and they'll give him a shot in what looks like a lost season. Another high pick INCOMING in south Florida.

Carolina looks like a fit for either Kipper or MacDonald. Let Ward get all the way back to 100% and then ride a Ward Kipper duo in the playoffs? That could work. Skinner to Calgary? :D

TB will go with Lindback for the rest of this year. I don't see them going after Kipper. Maybe MacDonald as insurance in case Lindback soils the sheets. Lindback is not that good, IMO, but after doling out draft picks like candy this summer I think Stevie Y gives him ample opportunity to be the #1 guy.

I'd do the happy dance if the Flames could pry Skinner out of Carolina, but I doubt it would happen (i.e. Flames would have to sweeten the pot quite a bit).

<AHEM>

If you'll notice sir, I DID provide a smiley face for your comprehension needs.

Indeed, though, the diving puke Skinner would elicit Kipper and a rather large + from the Flames.

If the Canes are serious about competing this season maybe someone like McBain could be shaken loose.

Of course.

I forgot to add the smiley face in the second post. :L
