After watching that 30-for-30 special the other night about CLE I can honestly say that I would kind of feel good if any of their teams won something significant regardless of the roster. I thought the Caps were snakebit - the history of CLE & all of their near misses is just plain painful.

Oh well - I don't think that you are going to have to worry much about this - I think that RG3 will still have issues & even if he does well barring a miracle the Browns likely won't finish about .500 anytime soon.

IM just hoping Snyders law doesnt show up on this one.

Snyders law reads as such... when the Redskins sign or draft them, no matter how good they were supposed to be, they invariably end up sucking for us.

And usually after we give up on them, they go else where and become solid players.

?? Who are these solid ex-Redskins players on other teams? As I have stated before the main problem with the Redskins is not drafting players in the past (hopefully these days are over w/ the current regime). I don't recall many ex-Redskins doing that great on a sustained basis with other teams. Sure there may be a handful, but that is true for most teams - that is the reality of a salary cap driven league like the NFL.

I see guys like Campbell, Chester, Orakpo, Hankerson, Polumbus, Rogers, Andre Carter, Bacardi Rambo, Amerson, etc - players w/ question marks or marginal players that I certainly don't regret being released by this team. In any case - I think that this is a different organization now & you have already seen a solid draft last offseason & the current draft has real promise. You also appear to be seeing a team that wants to retain players & develop them. In this sense the release of RG3 was a good one & you can't worry about whether he succeeds elsewhere.

You appeared to be thrilled that the Redskins got rid of him - now you are worried that he might succeed elsewhere? Again - let it go.

Rak... is starting else where. As is Amerson, Rambo Rogers did start and did well for the Niners.

Now am I thrilled Griffin is gone, in a word yes. Because I thought it was a mistake from the moment we did it. Am I worried that he will do well with the Browns?? Not really. But just because I dont really worry about it does not mean I want to see it happen or should wish him well in his next spot.

I loved RG3 his rookie season.

He was very unprofessional and refused to work on the things he needed to in order to get better.

He is gone now and I hope he fails miserably. Why? Because he isn't on this team. The only way he can succeed in Cleveland is for him to do what he didn't do here...and that is to be professional. If he could be professional there...why didn't he do that here?

I have no problems with the Redskins getting rid of any of those players (nor do I have an issue w/ getting rid of Morris). It is the nature of the business & there were factors that warranted getting rid of those guys. Rogers pretty much played & talked his way off the team, Rak was coming off & injury & had contract issues, etc, etc. You are going to see this type of thing on just about any team. As a matter of fact as the Redskins get better you are going to see more of this.

This small # of moves doesn't even begin to compare w/ the huge # of failed Redskins draft picks, poor FA moves & bad trades (& this occurred even before Snyder). Thus far with this regime we appear to be seeing the exact opposite - time will tell.

Why? Could it be because he was in his early 20s & perhaps he is now growing up (maybe he won't - we will see). Everyone makes mistakes - some a heck a lot worse than this. Anyhow - again - I don't really care since he is not on the Redskins. For others - have fun with that.

The wording can be interpreted as a million different things since it is very cryptic. Please do tell - exactly what do you believe that he is saying? I read the article very carefully & honestly I don't see the connection.

For some folks in here taking shots - did you actually read the entire article? Some folks are acting like a lot of Redskins haters do quite often - lashing out with very strong opinions without having all of the facts. Beyond that - who really gives a shit @ RG3 rt now? He doesn't play for the Redskins nor for one of their rivals.
Yes, I completely agree - the wording is cryptic and could mean many things.

My interpretation (again, my opinion only):

'How does a man hit a target he cannot see. The better question is how does a man hit a target he does not have.'

What target? My take is the target is Griffin that J Reid, who is basically a stalker at this point regarding Griffin stories, 'cannot' see...as in understand. Followed by a sentence offering a philosophical conundrum that you can't effect a 'target' that you don't understand.

Again, I think it was a response because of the timing and the pattern of Griffins use of social media in the past.

Sounds as good as anything to me. Really time for RG3 to sequester himself & learn the game & seek out the opinions of his predecessors. Oh well - not the Redskins problem anymore so doesn't really matter. HTTR

Exactly my feelings. Only really elaborated because you asked. I'm clearly on the record as wishing him well in Cleveland.

I don't like the excuses. He was a grown man being paid millions. Doors were open, suggestions were made, and RG3 chose not to act like a pro. I agree that everyone makes mistakes and this is a mild mistake from a humanity point of view. From a football point of view, it is huge. For 20 million a year, wouldn't you be in the film room and asking people how to improve?

Saw some Cleveland fans wondering if this comment was related to Kesslar starting or Josh Gorden issues. They don't know Griffin and his Twitter fingers at work yet.
they'll find out soon enough :)

I agree with most that Reid was a Redskin basher. Knowing he is a Cowboy fan I don't find that odd. I do think this is a well written article and now we have heard the Shanahan side.

I couldn't believe Shanahan wanted to give up the farm for Griffin in 2012, he was obviously a spread system QB. Drafting Cousins was an indication that he didn't fully believe in Griffin and was hedging his bet. The trade and the entire fiasco had Snyder written all over it.

Dan has now brought SM into the picture. I hope he continues to let him do his job. I have no ill will for Griffin. Hopefully he learned from the experience and he can have a productive career. I do not think that will happen but I won't root against the guy.

Don't give Shanny too much of a pass. There's still the dumb ass NcNabb trade that Shanny made. That might be the beginning of Snyder losing faith in Shanny. Hiring Haslett, going 11-21 and two last place finishes his first two years as HC damn sure didn't help either.

Shanny, Kyle and the QB coach all were extremely negligent in not pressing the self protection/sliding issue with Griffin. Griffin thinking he could do in the NFL what did at Baylor is one thing. The 3 coaches tasked with making him realize that and putting up nary a fight against it is another entirely.

I think it is clear Shanahan and Snyder were operating at cross purposes. Most say that the McNabb decision was an Allen/Snyder collaboration. These are the reasons I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop under SM.
