I will say it like this. If I were a hiring manager knowing that he had a habit of saying stupid shit on social media, I would have made it a condition of his contract that he is banned from social media period. And before you say well they cant do that. Players in Denver and Seattle are banned from smoking weed even though its legal. I said it before and I will say it again.. .RG3's issue wasnt Shanahan, its not the media... is his ego. And the idea of saying I hope he does well with the Browns from a Redskins fan is like saying, well I hope the chick I gave up everything for ends up happy with her new man after she left me broke and destitute.

I wouldn't say they can't do it I just think it'd be stupid.

And I think I'm just mature enough to not harbor hostility towards professional athletes who have done nothing wrong to me. But hey some people can't do that I guess.

Really... so let me ask you... are you so loving and forgiving of Albert Haynesworth?? Do you also wish him good will and great fortunes?? Do you wish every player that left the Redskins due to their own failings good luck and great fortune??

I think Griffin is just misguided, I think Fat Albert was a lazy good for nothing that wanted the money for nothing in return.

I don't like anyone who wants to get paid for nothing.

Sure I hope they all have a great life. These people are not important enough to me for me to wish ill will on them. I'm not some bitter ahole who can't get over that player who wasted their talent or didn't care enough or whatever it was. Who cares.

This is also an important distinction. But better you to try and explain that than me lol.

IF that was to imply Im an asshole... guilty as charged and rather proud of it. But to say you actually care about the Redskins, and yet still hope some one who fucked the team over does well in his next stop.... well lets just say you are either a fan of the player over the team... or much more forgiving than the normal human.

No hard feelings I hope lol. Don't get me wrong I don't particularly like McNabb or haynesworth. To some degree theyre both shitty people and there's at least some evidence the same could be said for rg3 (though as sportster said it may be more ignorance than malice). I just don't feel the need to root against people in life and carry a personal vendetta against them forever. There are far worse people in the world than rg3 and fat albert.

I think you misunderstand me a bit then. I hoe the kid lives a long happy life with his blonde hair blue eyed devil and does everything he can to make race not an issue in this country by producing as many mixed kids as he can. But from a football standpoint, I cant bring myself to hope he does well with the Browns after he failed here and cost us two years in the process. I dont want him to become Jamarcus Russell, but I would be perfectly fine with him becoming the next David Carr.

Side note I agree there are far worse people.... Hitlary Clinton comes to mind.

Fair enough. I don't share your wishes but I don't really care if they come true. He's the same as any other player now.

I wish for him to do well about as much as I hope Tony Romo wins a Super Bowl. Actually i think I would have more respect for Romo at this point. LOL

?? RG3 refused to comment for this article so any quotes from him were from several years ago. I believe the main premise of the article was that RG3 had many shortcomings & refused to listen to coaches & get advice from people who could help w/ his transition (D. Williams, Moon, etc). He now has an organization that is totally behind him - put up or shut up time. I wish him the best but don't really care that much since he is not on the Redskins.

The quotes are not from several years ago. From the article:

Griffin said in his first news conference after signing with the Browns. “And when that is stripped away from you, one of two things can happen: You can either tank it and allow it to break you — or let it build you up.”

Griffin acknowledges he holds a grudge against Washington. “I’m not trying to let any baggage hold me down,” Griffin said, “but I have a massive chip on my shoulder.”

Timing is the biggest reason I think it's related.

The wording can easily be interpreted as a snipe at Jason Reid which I honestly can't blame him for. That guy has been relentless with his 'sources' and non-stop Griffin articles to be considered objective about anything Griffin/Redskins related at this point.

The wording can be interpreted as a million different things since it is very cryptic. Please do tell - exactly what do you believe that he is saying? I read the article very carefully & honestly I don't see the connection.

For some folks in here taking shots - did you actually read the entire article? Some folks are acting like a lot of Redskins haters do quite often - lashing out with very strong opinions without having all of the facts. Beyond that - who really gives a shit @ RG3 rt now? He doesn't play for the Redskins nor for one of their rivals.

OK fair enough. I really see nothing wrong with the first quote. As for the 2nd one - yea kind of - but really a chip on someone's shoulder is not that bad of thing. I didn't see anything where he is outright blaming anyone on the Redskins at this time (unlike what he did in press conferences several years ago).

Anyhow - again - the article is primarily anti-RG3 so it might give RG3 reason to take pause & evaluate himself. If he doesn't & fails - really who cares? He is not the Redskins problem anymore.

I hope that you are being completely sarcastic. In no universe do I root for the Cowboys to win the SB over any other team especially the freaking Browns. You need to let this go already.

Why would I be sarcastic?? Im hoping Griffin Succeeds for the Browns about as much as I hope Romo wins a Super Bowl for Dallas. In other words, I hope neither of these things happens.

I will take RG3 doing well (even if he does well they won't be w/i sniffing distance of the SB for a very long time) over a Cowboys SB win every freaking day of the year!! Are you insane?

OK... one more time... I dont want to see either. I hope the Cowboys never win another Super Bowl in my life time. I also hope Griffin does not do well with the Browns or any other team for that matter

Unfortunately I think that there is a better chance of the former occurring. I can honestly say that if the Cowboys won the SB I would be sick to my stomach (kind of like how I felt last week w/ the Caps). If say - RG3 guides the Browns to the playoffs this season (especially if Cousins & the Redskins also do well) I will be like "Oh well - whatever." I try not to cry over spilled milk - the past can't be corrected.

Oh its not crying over spilled milk. I just cant honestly sit here and say... well I hope he does well with the Browns, or that it wouldnt irk me to see him finally pull head out of arse AFTER he left Washington. I think its kind of like, you invested in a stock that proceeded to tank miserably. You finally got tired of losing money so you sell and cut your losses... and a week later the company stock triples the price you originally paid for it and splits twice.

After watching that 30-for-30 special the other night about CLE I can honestly say that I would kind of feel good if any of their teams won something significant regardless of the roster. I thought the Caps were snakebit - the history of CLE & all of their near misses is just plain painful.

Oh well - I don't think that you are going to have to worry much about this - I think that RG3 will still have issues & even if he does well barring a miracle the Browns likely won't finish about .500 anytime soon.
