They got swept at home to the shittiest team in the division. Their questionable closer got blown up twice in a row and they gave Felix a total of 2 hits in the finale and that doesn't mean squat?

And their four-hole hitter went 2-for-19 and about a dozen GIDP.

Considering that Cain was throwing in the low-90's upon coming back from shoulder surgery last season, no, not really.
Low 90's doesn't seem to be helping him much.

But it gives him a fighting chance and that's exactly what we have seen this season. The last two starts exemplify that. But if Timmy is throwing 84, he's got NO chance. Jamie Moyer he is not. Timmy was never great at locating, he just had plus stuff that carried him. If he ain't locating AND he ain't throwing in the 90's, he ain't effective.

Good for him, let's see if he can reclaim some of his old glory.

According to Hammer, that's "ONLY $15MM". Get it right.

Baseball Almanac said 7, but hell, 15 is muuuuuch better!

And the "only" is douchebag (redundant word) Giants fans, always justifying everything, including Zeets' albatross.

He made $7M in '15. He is making $13M in '16, but it counts as $15M against the lux tax because he got a $4M signing bonus.

Last year, it dropped to as low as 81-82 before the Giants shut him down. But he has been under 90 for most of the last couple years for sure.

The hip MAY help with this, though. But he still is not a pin-point pitcher. So he will need not only a 91+ FB, but the nasty CB and CU to go along with it for him to be ever a passable #3. When he was throwing 95-97, he was the best going because he had the nasty CU and CB to just eat up the batters. Watching batters swing at his pitches that bounced 3 feet in front of the plate was a beautiful thing.

It was kind of tragic the way Zito's shitty contract prevented them from winning any championships.
