Elite coaches like Meyer and Saban have the ability to evaluate personnel that they can lead with their management tactics.

Bo saw potential in Beck. He just couldn't get the best out of him, IMO.

What are your thoughts on Beck? I like that he is an Ohio guy and has worked with our coach in the past

Tim Beck should be very happy to coach at what was probably the school he rooted for when he was growing up and dreamed of playing at. He is the QB Coach, so he won't be making 700 grand+ like he was at Nebraska, but he will be well paid, and at what could be the job he can retire from.

It looks like we know which coach was thought of the highest by his peers in the coaching ranks at Nebraska, Tim Beck.

Ohio State is going to be passing a lot.

first I was like lmao

then I realized he's gonna have good talent and staff around him and no BP handcuff his play calls and offense

don't get me wrong I don't miss him but he never had his qb to throw the ball around

I liked Beck's offense. Nebraska just wasn't good enough up-front to run it successfully against good teams.

They aren't going to run Beck's Offense up there......I guarantee you that.

Beck will run Urban's Offense.

He will do just fine. Won't even notice a difference.

Beck's Offense had far too many bells and whistles. If he would have taken his mind off of being more multiple all the time, we could have eliminated turnovers and penalties.......instead of leading the entire country in turnovers and penalties over the past 4 seasons combined.

In the history of sports, has anyone ever failed upwards more than what Beck just did?

I can agree with that. The difference in success will be management though.

I will go Gene Chizik.

Head Coach of 3-9 and 2-10 Iowa State, hired at Auburn.

Gets Cam Newton and the deep pocketed Bobby Lowder, a very rich cheat. Lowder plea bargained and made sure that Auburn was not penalized for what he did. Otherwise, I highly doubt Auburn would have that 2012 BCSNC.

Chizik loses Cam Newton and promptly leads Auburn to a 3-9 season.

Urban is the best coach currently in the country.

He isn't gonna surround himself with fail.

He just knows that he can make Beck his bitch.

I will guarantee you that Ed Warinner opened the door for Beck.

Ed will most likely be the QB coach and it will be a very similar situation as to when the 2 were working together at Kansas.

I'm not impressed. They can have Beck!

Our QB development under his tutelage sucked ass.

Ohio State has somebody there who can develop QB's.

They don't rely on Graduate Assistants and Interns en sech like that.

No. Just no. Has anyone thought of the fact that Ed Warinner worked alongside Tim beck at Kansas?
