A little anxiety here at the scorer's table because the official's replay monitor is broken.

An already stressed out officiating crew tells an editorializing Tony Allen, "Hey, GET. BACK. TONE!"

The officials are now looking at a monitor that resembles a mini-fridge, or the WOPR from War Games.

That's something I hate, they should do like the NFL and have a "replay official" already ready. It would speed things up greatly

I don't know it looked like durant stepped into Allen, but this is probably game right here.

The key in this series for OKC is Kevin Martin. If he's able to give them at least 18 ppg they can win this series

Thunder are one tipped pass away from being down 0-2.

Someone needs to let Ibaka know his teams playing a playoff series.

Who thinks that if it was Harden and Durant instead of Martin and Durant OKC would still be the favorite?

I don't, personally.

I still would have picked MEM at the start of this series even if OKC had Harden instead of Martin, because I really like MEM's style of ball, i.e. I believe in defense and bigs as the two most critical ingredients in winning an NBA championship. Always has been, always will be. Don't believe the hype about small ball, that's for suckers.

Not thinking about small ball hype, just reality. Martin is a scorer. Harden is a scorer/facillitator. Harden also carves up defenses.

Yeah, but I was. That was my entire reasoning for why I like MEM over OKC regardless of who's scoring or facilitating for OKC. OKC's bigs are garbage: Perkins, can't stand the guy, he's a goober; Ibaka, he thinks he's a three-point shooter, i.e. small ball, and doesn't get used properly enough; Thabeet, can't figure out why he's getting major minutes. That's MEM's advantage, in case you didn't notice.

Thats pretty much every teams advantage against OKC that has a scoring big. Its also the reason OKC cant capitalize on the Heats small frontcourt. The problem usually is Westbrooks relentless assault on the basket. Harden would bring that type of game into the equation and make it easier for OKC to get better shots, put fouls on the Memphis bigs, and provide an extra facilitator out there.

Good points. No doubt OKC downshifted with Martin. I don't think anyone is going to debate that with you. Hence my discussion about how it doesn't matter either way, IMO.

It would certainly be a more competitive series in MEM with Harden, but I think the loss of Russ is huge either way and MEM is about to go up 3-1, mainly because Russ isn't there, not Harden.

I also think the Rudy Gay trade was a great move... I had/have Okc but would love Memphis to pull it out... The subtraction of Gay forces that low post play that you love and ensures their best scorer (Zbo) to get touches and Gasol and Conley become the 2-3 interchangeable option whomever is playing better allowing Prince and Allen to get off the ball touches and occasional post on smaller guys... Bayless off the bench is a nice punch off the bench as well... They are playing great but Okc is still dangerous and have the benefit of the doubt... Hope I'm wrong...
