It's not like Revis is wrong here. Sherman got safety help every time Adams was on his side.

and what's the problem with safety help? I'm sure Revis had safety help at times as well. Can't imagine the Jets were playing real man to man every single time when Revis played there.

Nothing wrong with safety help. The advantage is when you do have that shut down corner the DC has more tools in the tool box he gets to use. It makes it more difficult on those average QBs to diagnose the D pre-snap. While at the same time also having to worry about another blitzer or two.

Oh, and that play wasn't just an isolated breakdown.

Richard Sherman played terrible in the Super Bowl. Just saw a statistic that Mahomes targeted the receiver Sherman was defending 5 times, all for completions, for a passer rating of 119 in throws against Sherman.

Prime Revis> Prime Sherman

Sherman career> Revis career

I don't necessarily agree Sherman had a better career. I would take Revis by a good margin for prime and overall for career as well. I'll take a lockdown man to man guy any day over a guy that thrives in zone, Revis was rarely out of position.
They are just different types of CB's so really hard to compare.

That would depend on the defensive scheme I am running.

Granted, a lockdown one-on-one corner gives you more defensive scheme options but, like you said, two different styles so there may be schemes that favor Sherman over Revis.

Absolutely, hard to compare but I will take the lockdown 1-on-1 guy any day of the week bc it's not like one is much better than the other. Either way, it's close

Deion Sanders over anybody. Only one year as a Niner, but I loved that guy.
