i mean the official USGA Instagram account just did a rules explainer on basically this same situation a couple of weeks ago.Absolutely no issue with it and tbh I don't know why anyone should. It's not like Tiger getting the fans to move a boulder out of the way... now that was really stretching them. The RoG screw us far more often than they help, so when you can use them to your advantage, it would be stupid not to.
His performance in the 3 hole playoff this morning may have been the worst pro golf playoff showing I've ever witnessed. What a choke job... and I was rooting for him. Over the 3 playoff holes Spaun did not hit a single good golf shot. Every single shot was bad including the putts with the exception of the tap-ins.
But $2.7 million isn't a bad consolation prize. But when he left what would have been the winning putt right in the mouth on 18 yesterday I had a feeling that was it for him.
I wouldn't call it a choke job. He was on point coming home yesterday (from holes 14-18). That would have been the time to "choke" and he didn't. I just think he was off this morning. I mean...it was a weird set of circumstances.Absolutely no issue with it and tbh I don't know why anyone should. To be fair, Rory hit - what - two good shots over that three hole stretch? The drive on 16 and hitting the middle of the green on 17.He played well down the stretch Sunday. But over those 3 playoff holes this morning he hit 11 shots, including approach putts on 16 & 17, and every single one was sub-par. Can you think of 1 that wasn't? I was really rooting for the guy especially after the way he played on Sunday to catch Rory.
