I didn't like that run call on that long 4th and 1 when the Ravens were stacking the box
I agree, but remember it's preseason. The goal is not necessarily to win, but also learn.Oh, I didn't mind the call, the formation was the problem there. If you're gonna run it on 4th and 1 spread your offense out make them play honest. That whole my dick is bigger and badder than yours shit always loses to the smarter guy.
Some film breakdown fro Mark Bullock
Well, you learn that your OL can't beat all teams in this front. You also learn how the right side of your line reacts in situations like this. You also learn how your RB might find a way to get it (or not). There's nothing to learn about running smack into the D that's stacked up waiting for it. I loathe the pack em tight and try to out man them philosophy. Come out in at least a standard formation and keep them honest. Spread em out. Anything except packing it in and going jumbo.
The fact that they barely had a running game, had some bad field positions, had some 2nd and 3rd and longs plus no sacks yet still Kurt moved the offense was positive as well.the thing that is impressive here is how KC recognized what thw defense was doing to him , slides protection over the executes the play perfectly
do any of you read that in an 3 analysis ? no
nice game by KC

It's only preseason so don't get too excited.I'll preface this post by saying that I'm not watching the game, but listening to the stream on ESPN. But I would give KC a grade of b-/c+. The Int hurts. Also it sounds as if the td to crowder was lucky. That could have been another int. on the positive, he bounced back from the int, he ran the 2 minute drill to perfection, and I don't think he was sacked. All in all, the best performance by any QB this preseason, but not good enough to knock out the incumbent.
Thoughts?

Sportster 72 said:You learn who can block in goal line offense. You learn what you need to coach for the line as a whole and also individually. There is no better time than in a game situation.
Don't be so hard on yourself. We've all made mistakes. My fault.......I made the assumption that evaluating your offensive team was more easily done if they stayed on the field, again, my fault!!!!

If it was a regular season game making that first down would be a lot more important. Preseason is a time for evaluation of 90 players to see which 53 you want to keep. Unless your name is Griffin in which case the owner doesn't care about evaluation and just wants to keep his favorite players.![]()
Or this could just be a continuation of one long nightmare.....somebody wake me up.Never know Sportster, this situation may be in the midst of a change.
