could use him just about now. even at 51, he would still dominate.

the two best highlight reels in nfl history (in my arrogant opinion):

1. barry sanders making defensive players look like uncoordinated ballerinas.

2. reggie white using one arm to toss aside 320 pound men like rag dolls.

I agree. I think it's insane that people think anyone else could be considered the greatest runningback or defensive end of all time. Were they watching a different league than me? Barry's most impressive runs weren't even the ones you see in most of the highlight reels. The most impressive ones were when he made 4 yards out of nothing and left 9 defenders laying on the ground looking for their cleats.

Reggie was the same way at his position. Double team? Didn't matter. Triple team? Didn't matter much...

And Barry did it behind a bad offensive line, when defensive players still knew how to tackle. What those guys did to people should have been impossible.

Great man. I still can't believe the NFL banned his one-armed slap move. :(

I think it's actually kind of an injustice that most of those replays were not in full speed. Whenever I hear the "Deacon Jones" argument, people bring up speed. Reggie was actually pretty quick. He regularly clocked 4.8 forty times, and I remember articles about it.

And the thing about him. Even as the offensive linemen finally eclipsed him in size, he was still bull rushing through double teams.

I always felt like getting Reggie White was what turned the franchise around. When he showed up, he turned a talented young defense into a serious force.

Yep, reggie signing gave the new packers regime legitimacy from a player standpoint.
